Put it in the frunk or in the trunk if the doo-dad is installed that hides what's in the trunk. Not convenient, but if you don't want your car broken in to, there can't be anything visible that might have value, not even for 2 minutes while you are away.

This was the same advice I received when driving on a 2 week trip from Brussels to Milan in 2014 in a rental car. Thieves zero in on rental cars and bust windows out to check the glove box contents. If the glove box is open and empty, removes one more thing they might be interested in. Also suggested leaving local language newspapers laying in open view in the car to make it appear less like a tourist's rental vehicle.

Spent the last five minutes explaining that no I did not get creative with some badges trying to say the Cayman is like a GT3 and that a GT4 is actually a thing.

Dude was driving a 996, too.

Around Cincinnati there are three possibilities for the paper:

1. The thief can't read.
2. The thief is high and can't focus on the paper.
3. Both 1 and 2.

Nice vid! Are you using the built-in mic on the rear-facing GoPro, or an external mic (which brand + model)?

I've been messing around with a Garmin VIRB lately as an upgrade to an old GoPro 3. Here's an overlay with the VIRB on the towhook and GoPro facing rear.

I'm trying a couple of external mics too... this is the one running with the GoPro...

Cool, thanks for the link. I was considering that mic myself and would be curious to see your setup one day at a local Peachstate PCA event. (I don't remember you having an external mic wired for the Warner Robins event.)

Just got the camera and the mics. I though that Olympus mic would work with my VIRB, but no.
This cheap one does though This cheap one does though
. Now I just need a 15' extension cable to somehow get it close to the tailpipes. I tried a couple of mini usb extensions, but they don't work. Bluetooth is unreliable. So I'm patching stuff together now.
