Question Comfort windows programming?

I just had the horn honk for the alarm turned off by my dealer and also requested to activate the comfort windows (up and down control from key FOB) but they could not find the option in PIWIS. Does anyone have the instructions for doing this that I can share with my dealer?

Have you confirmed that it is located elsewhere in PIWIS for the 981?

No, I didn't think so.

I for one am cool with the double honk-thing. I can't begin to recall how many times I had to walk back to my 987 to pull on the handle to make sure it was locked. Kind of like wondering if you forgot to close the garage door 5 minutes after you leave the house

what's i'd rather have is a more subtle and elegant beep instead of a honk honk.

The beeps are the worst part of the car. Too much like Herbie and not enough like Darth Vader.

Awesome, glad to get confirmation that this is still possible on newer 981s, which seemed uncertain based on some threads I'd read. The windows should be under Body Control Module. I asked my SA to get these coded prior to delivery and she said she'd do what she could. She's also getting me the clear LED side markers.

I usually lock my car while still close enough that I can hear the actuators, plus I believe the lights still flash even with the honk disable feature coded, which is all I'd need if locking from a distance. And I believe they DON'T flash if a door or hatch isn't secured, which is also useful. At that point the acoustic confirmation becomes superfluous at best and problematic at worst, such as when trying to make a quiet entry -- and I agree with others their just sounds pathetically cheap. I too would prefer an electronic chirp, but since those retrofits are definitely not plug and play nor are there tailor-made kits for this purpose, I'd rather have nothing for now.

I agree it sounds like Herbie but this car is a Boss and so far nobody is snickering at any of the sounds coming out of it

Okay, my dealer was not able to use the Planet 9 instructions for the 981... can anyone who has actually done this with a newer 981 post up the instructions?

You might want to PM member sapman since he appeared to be very positive about those instructions and posting a link to them. Maybe he knows more than what he posted.
