Are you going to daily the GT4? There is an insane duality to the GT4. You can use it every day and have fun while commuting. Yet the car just gets better the harder you drive it. Very capable. Enough feedback to the driver, especially by today's standards. While it doesn't have the GT3s engine, the engine it does have sounds great and is an emotional one.

Before the car landed, There were one or two very vocal people saying how hard the GT4 would be to live with every day. Just not the case. I can drive drive drive without much fatigue.

Though I would say because of this duality, the car encourages you to drive fast to get the most enjoyment out of it. It would be wasting the car to only use it for DD, but you can, just make sure you can take it to the right environment often. E.g. Mountain roads or the track.

I owned an AP2 S2000 from stock to basic bolt-ons. I can't really say I find much in common with my GT4. They both have great shift mechanisms, sure, but looking back at the S2000 I think it was a much better street car in the sense that you could use what it had to offer on the street and I think it was unquestionably more raw (as are most cars from that era and before). I never tracked the S2000 unfortunately. I would definitely own another S2000 again, no question. My preference would be an AP1 with AP2 body/interior updates and maybe the AP2 trans.

My GT4 feels very similar to my track prepped s2k...while on track... Off track their is a night and day difference and would be on the edge of sanity if I had to daily the s2k as she currently sits.

A GT4 makes a appearance .

Here is my GT4

I think the S2000 makes a much better track car/mountain road car than a street/daily driver. The car is just too slow from a dead stop and you sound like you are racing if you need to overtake a camry. I'm excited about being able to drive the GT4 on the street since it will have the power and torque to overtake cars without making noise or changing gears. I don't push any cars hard on the street. It's just no fun and the risks are too high. The track is my playground.

Very nice driving! I'm always impressed by how many really good drivers there are in S2K's. I think the platform really makes you a better driver.

Since everyone is sharing, here's my recent track day at Laguna Seca. I need to get more comfortable using all of the track like you do and carry more speed through some of the faster corners.

^Nice driving as well. I especially like the overlay. What video editing software are you using?

Oh and I also agree the s2k is great learning tool. I never want to part with mine. It is very rewarding to push hard and bites when you drive it poorly. Plus it has the best shifter ever!

Great video mark!! I love Laguna Seca... it's been years since i've been on that track. Unfortunately i had to sell my track car to acquire the GT4 however i still have my CR and AP1... I will most likely keep one and will build again for the track. It's awesome to see ex s2000 owners making moves to the GT4.

The S2000 is a great learning car and very inexpensive to fix... I've had the car for a long time and i've yet to master it... Here she is on a warm up lap biting me. Never lift with cold tires.
