Thanks mate. Can you send me his details and I'll talk to him before buying anything

Just an update on my posts on Page 80 and 81.
The search is ON!
I have a lead on two cars, one in VIC and one in QLD.
VIC car has 2 yrs extended warranty remaining and gearbox has been done. Has the buckets.
QLD car is high spec, just waiting to hear if the owner wants to sell.

I'll take white, silver, grey or blue, with buckets and gearbox done.
If anyone is looking at selling PM me.

And yes... as predicted... prices have softened, but I am not going to claim I predicted coronavirus!!!!

Good luck with the hunt mate, hopefully you find one that ticks all the boxes.

Thanks Charlie, bought one yesterday! White with 918 buckets. Thought I was going to vomit yesterday, feeling better now...getting excited!
Just a question, do you (or does anyone) know if the standard stitching colour on the buckets is platinum silver in a 981 GT4?

I believe it was the standard color regardless of seat type. For instance, if you look at the North America GT4 registry anything that's not platinum is listed as a contrast stitching option, which would lead me to think that platinum was standard.

Congrats mate, post a pic when you can.

On the seats I believe the standard stitching trim is silver, I think red and yellow deviated stitching were the other available options.

Congratulations
Did you get the white one from Melbourne with very low km's? That car was well spec'd.

Thanks all. It wasn't listed on carsales. Private sale negotiated with a friend of a friend. Happy with spec. I was on the verge of vomiting all week with nerves. That is slowly turning into excitement, thankfully!

The previous owner was nice enough to fit a new set of Cup2s to the car.
After they wear out, I want to go to PS4S, but....I have the extended Porsche warranty.
I assume this means that I can only choose the approved tyres (either Cup2 or Dunlop Sport Maxx Race) or I risk a potential denial of a claim in future.
This seems ridiculously extreme to me, but this is my first Porsche so I am new to all this. Please correct me if I am wrong.
The reason I was asking about the stitching colour is that I want to order a set of bolster protectors for the 918 buckets. Also unsure whether to go Crazy Eddy or Exclusive Option.
Anyone in Oz have a set of the protectors?

Any "N" rated tyres in the correct size is all thats required. PS4S come in N rating as well as non N rating, some dealers turn a blind eye to one size difference.
For example rear 4S when I last checked a few months ago didn't come in 295 but came in 305 which will fit the rim easily.

There was an Aust PFA member with some bolster protectors for sale back in December.

Hope this helps

Many thanks James.
I did see the 305 rears were available but I thought it best to experience the car on it's standard tyres first. Hopefully I'll get 12,000kms out of the Cup2s....
4S can be the replacement after that...maybe there will be a 5S by then!

I really like the "Crazy Ed" bolster protectors, if my opinion is meaningful to anybody. No affiliation (other than a paying customer).
