[QUOTE=arena-RTR;12484612]ITT: Assertions that selling a product on the open market to the highest bidder is somehow "corrupt"[/QUOTE
Exactly! Although why don't dealers just list all there cars on eBay with no reserve and sell them to the highest bidder. Just putting a few of the most desirable ones online games the system.

Let the flipping game, begin.
And some of these will be 918 VIP allocation builds, too.
Expected. No surprise. Still disappointing and sad.

Doesn't matter. It's still considered "flipping" when you buy a brand new (hot) car, and turn around to immediately re-sell it at a 20% - 30% premium.

more power to them, if a buyer can make a quick 20% than good for him or her, don't bash someone for making a financially smart move
hell, what do you think of the guys selling air cooled cars for 3,4,5 times what they where selling for 2 years ago.

Flipping is often frowned upon with new cars because the car could've been spec'd out, and sold brand new, to an enthusiast who would've driven / enjoyed the car, instead of a client who'll flip to make a quick buck. It also artificially inflates the market for these new cars, which often crashes / pops, and the crash/pop has negative repercussions on the car's / brand's image. As such, manufacturers frown upon it.
The fact that some of these cars are / will be 918 VIP allocations is even worse.
Some McLaren dealers (at least, the one I work with), make you sign a 1 Year Right of First Refusal when you order a new rare / limited car.

So now, the ebay GT4 appears on cars.com. For a slightly lower price.

I guess if you were going to make an offer on ebay, the cars.com ad gives you a sense of what the guy will possible take. My guess is he is trying to end up getting about $120,000 for it.
