BBS E88s with gold centers (had the same wheels on my RS in 18s for the track).

So tire rack shows BBS CHR wheels for the GT4 at 19x8.5 51mm and 19x10 38mm. Will this work on the car without modifying the toe links? Will 255's and 295's work with this wheel width?

If Tire Rack specifies a wheel for the car, they have verified that it fits with a tire that is the same effective size as the OE tire.

Tires can be mounted on different width rims with different effects. Please consult the tire spec posted on their website. In addition be prepared that some of their wheel recommendations will push them out to give that semi flush look that so many with a regular OEM alignment are after.

Not always true as the discrepancy, recommended tire size, has been posted on here before.

Yes, it will work. Both wheel are at the lower end of the tire fitment, but they will fit.

Here's another picture with the car on the ground...lots of wheel gap in the rear.

Wheels look incredible. We need 295-35-19 and 245-40-19 for 19" track tires....or 295-40-18 and 245-45-18. I swear, I would replace the front caliper with a more compact version to allow 18" wheels and tires, and pad changes without removing the caliper.

Hoosier already makes a 295-40-18.....

You have a pic shot down the side of the car to show how far the offset and your camber push the wheels outside of the fender?

The more I think about it, with what tires are available for 19", I would try R7's in 265-35-19 front, 295-35-19 rear.

It would give the car a little more rake (and turn better), and you could drop the rear ride height just a little to offset the rake change.

The change in rolling diameter is not too far out of whack, and would probably be fine if you drive without the nannies. Perhaps would even be fine with them on.

Plus, you don't have tons of wheel gap, and the ride heights are alot closer to stock, which give you more alignment options.

I just got my GT4 last week and am looking to figure out what is the best track wheels and tires for the car. I have some 19" HREs that are 8.5 and 10. If I were to try the Hoosier R7's in 265-35-19 front, 295-35-19 rear - what wheel size would I need, 19X9 and 19X11? Anyone tried this and know if there are any rubbing issues in the front?

What does Hoosier recommend? Have you looked there first?

P.S.
You may also want to read all of the other treads on here discussing wheel size, offset and fitment.

Going with the Dunlop Race Maxx (245/35/19 and 305/30/19) which are the same tires I have on my OEM 20s since I didn't like the Trofeo Rs. Also getting a little more camber dialed in. I'll remove the 5mm spacer from the rear with the wider rubber.

you will plow right off the little sweeper at BW, lucky you we are doing star mazda. you need more meat up front and way less back. i will try 265 or even 275 front and 295 rear.

Really? Whats up with the Trofeo Rs???

Well I took the OEM race Maxx to the track and track tyres they are not. For a road tyre they are pretty good but they are pretty slow at the track.
I just cant find any other replacement for my A050s (18") that have a tread wear rating of 40 or 60.
