That's psiiick ! oh wait, I have one too
So I'm not sure how I would feel about the higher uprights as I somewhat regret getting the taller ones for my M4.
Believe or not, I just ordered the shorter oem height risers for the M4 with factory end plates instead of the DTM size ones I switched over to. Hard to believe that the cost of the Salter's are what they are. The oem BMW ones are 40% cheaper. Maybe they bought their own CNC machine ?

Woah ! I spy SSR's ...if so...great minds ! I ran them for both of my M5's for trackdays. Great pic ! thanks for sharing. I'm hoping to revisit the E28 M5 one day. My bud has a rare Canadian model with a black gut and full Euro front/rear bumpers and Euro headlights with wipers. I would take it over any air-cooled 911 without flinching !
I ran my last E34 M5 with a Frank Fahey track pipe into an Eisenmann catback. The sound in a tunnel was absolutely visceral .

Hah, I miss my e28 M5 too! Best car I've ever owned, fun, 4 doors, could do everything. I tried to get back into one and the prices are CRAZY!
Hope you enjoy the new GT4! I think it's an awesome balance of modern conveniences and refinement and old school fun. Stock I thought the GT4 was a touch soft but a few mods really bring out the character of the car.

FWIW, the GT4 header options are awesome, more power everywhere and more sound. I've heard people can pass sound at LRP with headers, stock PSE (off), and turn downs. I'm skeptical though since I had trouble passing w/o turndowns at tremblant (92db) but planning to give it a shot next year.

Congrats on your new GT4! Sorry to hear you don't love it. The GT4 is amazing out of the box but headers (DMS for me) add noticeable difference mid-range grunt and sound so it's a two in one mod! Best bang for the buck mod despite the ridiculous Porsche tax. I think the suspension is perfect (though I'm tempted to add more spring rate) but added monoball inner control arm bushings for a little more feel along with everything needed for a more aggressive alignment. Subtle but you get more feel and sharpness without having to add harshness to the suspension. That said, the GT4 will never be a 997 GT3 or vice versa so totally get it if you prefer the latter. Agree with viperguy though, maybe you just need a few more miles on the GT4. IMO the 997 GT3 is more aggressive and forward but singular, the GT4 is newer, more refined, and has options - PSE for quiet or loud, PSM for stiff or... stiffer, a great interior, super balance, it might take more time to get to know.

Hah, no worries, my wife gave me 24 hours to enjoy my new watch (birthday present to myself) before telling me how ugly it is: unbalanced, strap is too small for the case, curved sapphire looks weird. font size on the bezel numbers is too big compared to the numbers on the dial, etc. Good thing she has no idea how much it cost

Just add Dundon headers/tune, TPC DSC/toe links and Tarett camber plates. ajw45's mods would also make a great addition. Currently waiting on Dundon's intake solution.

Race Car
I was up in the Wine Country for dinner with friends on Saturday just above Kenwood. Coming back into the East Bay I went past Sears Point Raceway onto 37, which goes into 80 and then 780 before crossing the Benicia bridge. There is a section of 780 that is glass smooth and Nordschleife-esque. Suffice to say this car hunkers down like no other car that I've ever owned.
It can take anything that you "throw" at it, and always puts a smile on my face!

I am going to drive the GT4 every chance I get , even this Winter, so long as the roads are free of ice and snow I'm going to take it out for a rip just like they do in Europe and the UK . I imagine driving on Cup2's in a New England winter will be quite the car control clinic.

Congrats on the new car OP! It looks like a very clean example, and as it is my favorite GT car to date I have the utmost confidence you'll enjoy it thoroughly : ) I may be making my way up to LRP this coming season, if not maybe I'll see you at NJMP, NYST, or WG if you travel a bit. If you'd like to discuss any brake, suspension, performance enhancements I would be happy to spend some time with you so you can make an educated decision. The GT4 has a lot of potential to explore if you so choose to pursue it. Before you track it, make sure you get a proper alignment on that car first thing so you don't waste the outer edge of the tires. Also, be sure to keep an eye on the pad taper and check the ceramic caliper piston pucks as they like to crack and come apart when being tracked.

I am interested in eventually waking up the sound a tad and have seen Youtube clips of your exhaust and Fabspeed. Not sure yet but will wait til next season to hear some GT4's in the wild. Definitely doing GT3 TB upgrade and some Tarrett suspension bits.
I do occasionally go to NJMP but will be at LRP, WG and VIR this coming season. I might do the last NYST event next week...still pending but will you be there ? If I go I'll be tracking my M4 not GT4.
Cheers !
Mike
