718 GT4?
They aren't pushing it and it's super questionable because they are keeping RPMs low (3-4k max). In some clips, it might sound muffled in others, it sounds unmuffled. The original one that started all of this sounds muffled right up until the blip on the downshift. The latest clip of the 718 coming through first makes the Spyder sound NA because the howl doesn't sound muffled as it's pulling away. Edit: compared to something like this which doesn't have the howl and is really pushing it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7L6SZOSLKYc

I'm on a couple of waiting lists and have mixed feelings about a 6 Cyl Turbo. But I'd have to admit a Spyder with 420 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque is a compelling proposition.
The Spyder mule running the ring is DEFINITELY running a 6 Cyl Turbo.... Come on: it sounds almost identical to the current 991.2 Carrera S....

^^ it would be a phenomenal car performance wise and a 6 cyl Turbo makes the most sense for this car moving forward to me. It's just unfortunately not what most of the members of this forum want, myself included. NA will always be better from a "driver" perspective just like the manual will be. As mentioned many times here maybe the coupe gets the NA motor but I personally feel this is unlikely - only time will tell.
I had an interesting conversation with a dealer in Florida. I asked if there has been any info on the upcoming 718 GT4 and was quickly told "no, nothing official" a few minutes later the same salesman told me the "4.0 NA motor was confirmed by Porsche months ago". When I pressed him on where that info was posted specifically he could not give me a valid answer.

As certain as I was that the "Autobahn-clip" showed a 4-cyl car, just as certain am I that these last Nurburgring clips shows a 6-cyl car. Quite low-revvy and with a hint of "vacuum cleaner" whistle on the few occasions at high load. So, T/C (6-cyl) it is. Very sad to note that they are continuing with the fake exhaust farts/crackles/pops in this day and age. That is sooo 2016...
Also intresting to note (if my predictions above are correct) that they are indeed building test cars with different engine configurations. That is not only very expensive but also hints towards a certain amount of indecisiveness from the management...
