Default 982/718 Spyder short video on Ring testing during Industry Pool

Hope this posts correctly, sat at Brunnchen corner on Monday April 16 for awhile hoping to see the .2 3RS doing the official timed laps but must have just missed them

Caught this coming down Brunnchen twice though

Figured you guys would appreciate it as I was hunting for any snippet/clip/leak/tease of the 991.2 GT3 awhile back

No idea why the video quality is crap, maybe got compressed/downgraded during upload to RL

BAMM! Thanks for posting. Nice to see it in the flesh and hear a bit of off throttle burble before the right hand corner.

^ that was my thought too, especially after hearing some pops/burbles on overrun akin to the PSE noise on 3.0 turbo motor in the .2 Carreras, but it's a subject that it seems like many are waiting for official news on so I didn't want to spread a false rumor that spreads like wildfire lol

From what I observed and heard, I would be surprised if it was the detuned 4.0 GT3 motor

Thanks for posting. Those were the best audio clips yet. Agreed, sounds nothing like a 4.0L or even the 3.8L from the 981. Sounds turbo...

Excellent, thanks for posting. Definitely sounds different than the 3.8 to my ears.

Wow great clips! You deserve a pint for that! Definitely does not sound naturally aspirated. Sounds much better than I expected though despite being turbocharged! I think it's the flat 6 turbo going in there. Which actually I would still consider swapping over to cause that seems like a motor I can easily aftermarket tune and get much more out of it! I am getting keener now on the next gen. Noise and all is great but with the gear ratios and all that this car is begging for more power. A good sounding turbo motor seems to be like something that could make me jump ship!

I have to wonder if the noise emission regulations are messing with the sound. It definitely doesn’t sound like a 4 cylinder, could be the turbo 6 or the 4.0 with neutered sound.

I guess we have to wait and see.

If it is turbo, they have made it better. If it is NA, they have made it worse! Euro regs have wrecked the sound, as expected. Turbo engine, besides the sound, completely changes the character of the car. This is an agonizing wait! Porsche is putting us all through this misery!

Yup. It's still anyone's guess until the car comes out.

I only listened to the first file, but I don't think you could conclude turbo from that alone. Just sounded like they weren't revving the car out and were just lugging it a bit in a gear too high. Need to hear it on and off throttle hard to begin to speculate about the motor from the sound.
