Have seen multiple statements suggesting US and Canada do not get it, but these are just rennlist comments. Anyone got an official reference for this?

There was reference to an article or comment from Porsche that the GPF innards are replaced with some sort of wadding to maintain back pressure. Most like sound reflective rather than deadening to ensure quality sound.

Do you have a link? No offense but rennlist can be a bit of an echo chamber, so would be good to see something official (or at least from a credible journalist).

I asked the dealer for an official yes or no on the GPF and the reply is no.
Ignore all this back pressure marlarky. Better explained here:

New GT4?

New GT4?
Wow, I havent spent any time researching this topic, generally never touch my cars exhaust. With the new filters, seriously considering a change to allow for better sound and performance. The key take away for me on this video is that the science and engineering around the exhaust design is no joke and easily be thrown off?. I know porsche takes all this into considering when designing engines, do the aftermarket exhaust companies do the same?

I read that, at least for the Speedster, the US gets baffles in place of the GPFs that allow the motor to run properly. Seems reasonable that the GT4/Spyder would be treated the same.

God bless,
TT

The 718 GT4 CS have either GPF or the mentioned baffles....using the 3.8L 9A1 engine. Also there's no sensor after the cats to monitor the GPF or adjust engine parameters on the 718 GT4 CS or 718 GT4
I'll bet you that these can be easily taken out without any problem...the catalytic converters already provide enough of a bottleneck, excuse me, back pressure for the engine.

My understanding is it's a 4 liter motor--9A2 evo. And, I believe according to AP, the baffles are necessary to produce the correct amount of back pressure.

Or to restrict the true potential of the 4.0L engine, I don't buy the back pressure excuse...The 9A1 3.8L really wakes up with a good set of headers and a GT3 exhaust conversion.
The thing is they are also using the same exhaust with the GPF/Baffles on the previous engine ....why?
IMO they are stuck with this exhaust (that only fits 718s bumpers) with two canisters before the muffler and they need to put something in there to keep sound low enough and simulate the GPF since probably the muffler is less restrictive.

Anyone knows front ride height of the new GT4?

I remember something for the 981, a kind of data sheet with height and attack angles.

This time rear diffuser could be a problem on ramps

Any more information on PTS? This would look amazing. Is PTS really not going to be offered?

30mm lower than standard suspension, i.e. same as 718 with SPASM. https://www.pca.org/news/2019-06-17/...-40-liter-flat

I don't think the rear diffuser will be an issue, but the front splitter definitely will be a challenge for many driveways. Sure wish they would have offered the FAL.

It’s 10 mm lower than SPASM, and probably the same as a 981 GT4. I don’t know about approach angles though, as the new front splitter is a little different.

I’m particularly curious to know the approach angle and front ground clearance of the 718 Spyder, and how it compares to the 981 Spyder. The front lip is thinner than the GT4 and protrudes less, but I don’t know how much better the approach angle is. I fear it may still scrape or break off on driveways and speed bumps in my town.

While maybe not geographically, Mexico Blue and Miami Blue, are extremely close.
