They just keep reusing it without modification.
Fair point...

Yea those peak numbers are totally down to track camber. I’ve seen 2 Gs in my ‘69 in areas with a little banking. Flat is a very different story.

Right - but look how much more grip than the Turbo I drove (aside from my launch control start), primarily down to tire differences (street rubber).

That or you were just being a ***** in the Turbo... lol.

BTW I have street rubber (with suspension and aspect ratio differences, etc) increasing in grip at roughly .7% per year since the 70s. The switch to street-able R compounds (as both the 7RS and GT4 wear) are part of that trend, if you look at those tires alone it’s likely slightly less...

I was waiting for that one

We're very evenly matched drivers (started track driving together 20 years ago and usually within a few tenths of each other at home )

I’d suggest you wait if you can. Last time out Porsche underestimated demand- the GT4 was a more expensive and less practical version of a slow selling model (the Cayman) with a low take rate gearbox (manual) as the only option. Given this some at Porsche guessed wrong, made low volume tooling for bumpers, etc, and then couldn’t react and flex to meet demand. Many were left looking for cars when the music stopped, but even so most of us with patience and effort (and some assistance from those on this forum, thanks Grant) were able to buy without ADM. This time around Porsche isn’t making the same mistake, so cars without ADM will be the norm for those who don’t feel the need to be first in line.

Agreed. I refuse to pay any ADM, especially given that Porsche has indicated that they will build until there is no more demand. I plan on just having my dealer bump me down the list until they run out of people willing to pay ADM.

Either that or try to find a more reasonable dealer...

Agree, if you can be patient you will get the best deal in the end. These dealers are trying to make every dollar possible on pent up demand and people wanting to be first.

My dealer was willing to sell at MSRP if I agreed to a bunch of overprice products from them like PPF and wheel insurance ($15k+ in total). In the end, I decided to pursue a 981 GT4 and revisit the newer model in a few years.

The GT4 is that rarest of cars that manages to combine true feel, true interaction and, therefore, huge emotional connection while at the same time providing immense objective capability. In other words, it feels massively exciting and massively fast, and it is. And the soundtrack it generates, and which accompanies your every move above 5000rpm, is enough to bring a very slight tear to your eye on occasions."

"The GT4’s asking price of £75, 348 puts it in a league of one amongst mid-engined cars at this level, and that’s before you so much as mention the fact that it is 100 per cent epic to drive. A Jaguar F Type SVR costs more money and doesn’t get a look in overall beside the GT4. A McLaren 570S costs twice as much money yet, pound for pound, might well struggle to level with a GT4 overall. An amazing car at an amazing price, and one that is entirely without rivals at this moment in time."

AutoExpress

"It’s hardly that surprising the GT4 is as quick as Porsche claims it is around the Nurburgring. For 75 grand it is, genuinely, one of the biggest performance car bargains of the last decade."

More glowing reviews. Your comment regarding the gearing and PDK is apt ATM. All the gearing whinging will disappear with this version and take the new car to another level again.. Probably easier to live with day to day for many as well? I still love a manual but.......

Glad it's a bargain in some markets. It certainly isn't in Australia.

Got a call from my SA today in Montreal, Canada. Said the ordering slots are open and we can start speccing the cars. Said it would be for a summer 2020 delievery (I had a deposit since october-november 2018, but at that time, the deposit list was already important). At first, I was hoping for an early 2021 delievery.

Car will be at MSRP (no ADM allowed in Canada on new cars)

I'll have more infos soon enough.

Do you have a trade? In my experience, if a GT car is of demand in Canada they will only give you one if they can fleece you on a trade...there are exceptions of course but that has been the norm.
