I think all this waiting is driving people nuts!!! BMW M2C????
I also have a 2017 M3 ZCP....great car for daily driving but never near the GT4 experience at the track. Guess the M2 should be better in this area.
Anyway, I find them very capable cars but they are missing "something" if you know what I mean. I'm specially critical on how today's BMWs feel.
That's why I didn't even blink to get on the 718 GT4 list.....Enjoying my current 981 GT4 but but this waiting is also driving me nuts!
I got sick of waiting for the 718 GT4, this will suffice for now. Here is a seller but he stopped selling to the US www.nmautomotive.co.uk but you can buy it from the original manufacturer from Shenzhen, China.
You can buy it, I'll install for a nominal fee, LA only : ) Cracking into the PCM, adding a PCB and flex cables was the fun but challenging part. I'd highly recommend not attempting this if you're not experienced with electronics.
Wow, what a find! I did not think CarPlay upgrades / hacks are possible.
To the original poster: which kit did you get? I just spent 20min on Google and appears there's quite a few, mostly from China, but also one from UK (who doesn't appear to ship internationally).
This is more exciting than any GT4 news coming out of Porsche.
Here is a better thread on the CarPlay system. I started here, bought the system in China for ~$800, installed it over an afternoon. FYI the instructions they provide on youtube and such is NOT sufficient for those who are inexperienced with adding printed circuit boards and flex circuits. https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...-pictures.html

Damn. You must REALLY love Carplay. I have it in a 19 MB and the only time I used it was the night I got home with the car and used it to test the Burmester system with my Stereo Tester playlist in iTunes. Since then, because CarPlay currently sux so bad for my purposes, I ignore it.

huh? What sucks about leaving your phone in the glove box flipping between Apple Music and Google Maps with the press of a button also using Siri to make calls, send texts etc. It's a much safer driving experience and when it comes to the audio playback, the factory sound system is pretty ****ty and I can't distinguish the sound quality difference between bluetooth and CarPlay (direct connect)
I've seen this done before but personally I couldn't put an aftermarket stereo in a modern Porsche, I think it looks a little tacky but to each their own
Another benefit with the Alpine iLX-107 is that it has a capacitive touch screen, like the iPhone itself, compared to the mushy and less responsive resistive touch panel of the OEM radios.
