Ditto that! I ordered the parts and installed them a while ago but I forgot to thank you and tell you that it was spot on. Thanks for making it so easy to follow in your footsteps.

FWIW I also went through the oil selection process. I was startled to learn at BGB's GT4 seminar last December that they use M1 0W40 in all their race cars. That was good enough for me.

Do you think the PCV mod will reduce carbon buildup?
Any concerns with your mod that the system is no longer under vacuum? Would a catchcan do the same job without losing vacuum?
I assume, living in California, that this wouldn't pass smog inspection.

Thanks Rob and Jenner.
The modification eliminates carbon buildup because anything that gets past the fine oil separator is vented to atmosphere instead of being routed into the intake.
Only other entry point for oil getting into the intake would be leaking valve seals.
If you mean vacuum, as in the intake vacuum pulls from the positive crankcase ventilation system, it doesn't work that way.
Instead, there is positive crankcase ventilation push from pressure buildup.
I've read that there's a visual inspection in CA, but the modification can easily be reversed beforehand.
Great info, thanks for the detailed post!

Going to do the PCV vent mod on my Spyder. Noticed at ECS tuning there are two breather hoses with the same part number, one for $5 and the other for $32! What the hell is the difference????

I used the cheaper aftermarket one, it arrived without the o ring, so I used the one from the removed hose.

With the mod, then crank case never gets any lower than atmospheric pressure. Is that bad? Not sure. Certainly there is less pull of crank case gases (since the crank case pressure is left higher), so it is not operating exactly as designed.
My main paranoid concern would be any issues associated with inadequate ventilation of crank case gases.

The system doesn't rely on intake draw, there's plenty of crankcase pressure push through the fine oil separator, and if it's too high there's an over pressure valve that allows unfiltered vapor to pass.

The Scotch mounting tape doesn't stick well to itself in layers, under hot weather it delaminates.
I've reattached the front license plate bracket with Sugru mouldable glue, it's like RTV but easier to work with.
I wasn't happy with how it was positioned the first time, and had used two packets which was too much, so after a few weeks I pulled the bracket off without that much effort.
It left a smudge on the paint, but cleaned up with some bug and tar remover.
Second try I roughed up the four pads on the bracket with a file so it'll stick better, and used only one packet.

I recommend checking your filter. I ran this setup for a few thousand miles and I ended up having oil everywhere near where I put the filter. But I do track the car occasionally so that may be a factor. I went back to the stock configuration.

The picture is wrong, the left end attaches to the fine oil separator, and the right end attaches to the intake plenum near the throttle body.
For reference, a hose (14) connects each cylinder bank (1 and 2) and the oil fill tube to the inlet port at the base of the fine oil separator, picture is wrong and shows it reversed;

If I ever get oil coming out of the filter I'd probably add a catch can.
