718 GT4?

This is all so important to me though. I have a 2016 Cayman GTS, well used (about 60K km... 40K miles). Absolutely love the car, it's just shy of 3 years old. Has all the features one could spec basically (PDK, ceramic brakes, Burmester). And it puts a smile on my face every time I see it and drive it.
However, there is still this lingering feeling of wanting a car with more aggressive aero (e.g. GT car). GT3 isn't for me (too big and heavy in my opinion) -- Cayman is perfect size. However, if I go by past GT cars, the new GT4 won't have certain comfort features that I like in my GTS (e.g the keyless start system, ventilated seats, or the Burmester). Of course, no PDK would be a complete deal breaker.
You will all probably say that a GT4 is not for me, but I feel like car companies should give me the option to spec things the way I want (especially since it won't require any extra development for them) -- even if it ends up increasing the weight of the car (what other reason do they not allow it?). I guess my other option is to just get a body kit for my 981.

Could you remind us again what your opinion was on the CS sharing engines with the road car? Inquisitive minds must know!

Anyone else wish this VERY LONG thread could hit pause until we actually get some real info released from the manufacturer??? All horses in this stable have been beaten dead long ago.

Fair enough. Opinions and discussions are what make the forums entertaining and engaging. However, feeling the need to state your opinion over and over again after several have expressed annoyance, is not conducive to a productive discussion. With that said, since I have nothing productive to add, I will shut up.

I am sort of torn about the GT4 at this point. Will have to see for sure how the specs play out. I had a 981CS that was nearly GTS in spec. I drove several GT4's and walked away underwhelmed in the differences on the street compared to my 981 for the price point even in the used market. The 911 Carrera T and GT3 feel like animals on the street in comparison.
The tall gearing just got so damn old on the 981.
Much shorter gears, a screaming 4.0, and a price point that does not even come closed to a 991.2 GT3 manual might sway me.

Seriously....if PAG could meet your first two requests the last one will definitely not be possible to satisfy.
If you really, really want a GT4 (GT3 is not an option) and must have the gears and 4.0L I think an extra $40K in aftermarket mods and a 981GT4 could do the trick....

Thats the first I’ve heard of someone saying a GT4 is underwhelming while a 911t is an animal. 280 traffic must really mess with one’s senses!

I think that you have to ask what changes can be made without materially changing cost.
Gear ratos - yes - easy.
Screaming engine? Prob not without increasing $15-$20k. And that’s a higher screaming version of a 3.8. The Gt3 engine is what? $35k more?
PDK- as a paid option sure.
Suspension - nope but I don’t think that people feel there’s a need.
Restbis all minor engine stuff, aero and styling
