The GT4 could be considered to not be a true GT, because of the non Motorsport engine, similar to how some consider the 991.1 GT3/GT3 RS.

I find the idea that a 991.1 RS is not a "true GT car" but a 991.2 is to be ludicrous.
People can imagine up whatever wonky criteria in their minds that they want, but that doesn't mean they're credible.
Might as well say the 911 line ended with the last of the air-cooled ones.

People on the `991 GT3 GT3RS and 911R' forum, particularly a sore spot for Waxer.

I mean... can you imagine if everyone felt the need to go and beat everyone else's track records at every random track around the world??
It was both VIR and Road Atlanta. The ZR1 took both American track records.

If they decided to build a GT4RS, it would have the same motor as GT4. It would have buckets, bigger wing, carbon front fenders and PDK.

There is little hope for a RS model..... I for one do not see the need. The 718 line is already secondary to the 991 line, no need to extend it beyond the GT4 for the sake of some minimal weight savings and a little more aero...

But the GT4CS which has essentially the same motor is used in motorsport...
