Data and video options for the 718 GT4 Clubsport
Made a little video featuring several different options for good video, or video plus data, for the 718 GT4 CS.
Plus, pics at the bottom from a brand new 718 GT4 CS installation twenty minutes from my home.
DM me if I can help.
View out the front! In car view top left.
Forward facing camera high in the center of the windshield.
Camera 2 over the driver's right shoulder, or you can face it back.
HD2 unit on the center tunnel, completely automated.
Car connection, Porsche makes it easy!
Best place for the antenna.
Let me know if I can help.

Good stuff Peter! I went with the Solo DL2 and SM HD2 for what I am doing. I would also point out that AIM has a very extensive map written for the 718 GT4 that pulls pretty much EVERYTHING the car logs into the AIM system. I use Track Attack ($8 per month) for data integration, it allows some things that the AIM software cannot do.

The difference is that the V5 version of the HD2 is the standard 60 FPS capable system and the V6 version of the HD2 includes an additional output board and a locking HDMI port to stream not only video from individual camera, but also all the data overlay rendered on the video.
The price difference is $270 more for the HDMI output unit. The V1 (30 FPS) and V5 (60 FPS) standard units are not able to be updated, additional hardware in the unit is required.
This is the ONLY system that is capable of streaming data rendered onto the video in real time. Most popular place I've sold these is Ferrari Challenge and WRL Endurance Racing.
The two best streaming solutions that I have used are the LiveU Solo with two cell modems and the unlimited data plan, $1450 hardware, about $3K annually for the bonding (sending the signal together for the best quality and least latency) INCLUDING an unlimited data for BOTH ATT and Verizon, and a combination of the Cerevo LiveShell X with a Cradlepoint or Pepwave dual-SIM modem, the latter not much less expensive for the hardware, use or buy your own plan.

I’ll look at some data Tuesday from a 718 GT4 CS.
I have, in the past, changed units of measure in the scene configuration of other cars. Will report back.
Speeds, G’s and distance are all easily changed in the analysis software.

I think so. Racelogic is saying that the units of measure coming from the car are metric.

I have only 991 GT3 R and 992 GT3 Cup VBOX data that I actually analyze for people and it is in the factory measures. Have not worked with a car with an ICD with changes measures, but I think that’s just a conversion for the display.
Will report back. Like AiM, it’s usually going to display in analysis the channel measures selected in the configuration. It’s so common for me to work with brake pressure in bar that honestly, I’ve never asked that question, myself.

VBOX Video HD2 V5 units now available 8/20/21
After pausing production in late April due to supply chain constraints, I have begun receiving restarted production of the VBOX Video HD2 V5 two-camera track kits.
The HDMI streaming capable version, the V6, is still waiting on board components and expected to be available in mid-September.
There is a small price increase scheduled to go into effect 9/1/21 but I can offer new units at the current prices as long as my current stock lasts.
This system is used by Porsche for all record runs, is now in most cars at the PDX at Barber Motorsports Park and is mandated in all Porsche Carrera Cup and Super Cup competition worldwide.
This is an extremely popular kit for 996 MkII on, 997, 987, 981, 991 DE cars as well as 991/992 GT3 Cup, 991 GT2 RS CS and both 981 GT4 CS and 718 GT4 CS track and racing cars.
I’ve sold more than five hundred in the last five years and it’s the only system that works natively with Mac OS and iOS devices, as well as Windows.
Please DM or email me, if interested.
