Default Hello from Germany

As I said in the title, just wanted to say "hello" from Germany. So far lots of great infos for me and my car here!

Some details: since last autumn I own a 964 America Roadster - the car is now back in its homecountry from the US and I really love this rare model.

I have been driving 911 since the late 1980`s (all aircooled, most of them SC and 3.2 models and all types: Targa-Coupe-Convertible)

I hope this is the correct place for this short intro of myself; best greetings from snowy cologne

Soyez la bienvenu. (OK, I know nothing of the German language ).

Congratulations on the purchase of your 964 America Roadster. Those must be really rare in Germany?

Thx for the welcome!

Norbert from Cologne, who runs the well known "turbo-look register", told me that you can count AR in Germany using two hands - and especially in white.

My car had two owners in the US-the first from 1992 until 2008; about 100k miles and the engine is rebuilt completly, new clutch, new brakes, new top etc... But it is accident free and mostly in original paint. Interior is black/tan.

bernd93 - welcome to rennlist and congratulations on your Roadster.

I will be traveling to Germany in May to pickup my new Porsche. I was thinking of having the clear bra installed in Germany. Can you recommend a good shop? We will be staying in the Mainz/Wiesbaden area for the first several days, then we will be on the road to Switzerland, Italy, Austria, then maybe north to Sweden and Norway. Thanks and

Sorry, dont have a recommendation - too far from Cologne. But I´m sure, your local dealer can help you.

By the way: brilliant idea , this trip especially to the south. If you want to see something special in may in italy, the famous "mille miglia race" with historical racecars (Porsche, Ferrari, Alfa, Jaguar, Mercedes etc.) on normal italian roads is spectacular. You can follow the cars and make a stop, where ever you want. It starts close to the beautiful Garda lake (lago di garda) in Brescia, then through the tuscany area to Rome and back to Brescia.

With a convertible, its even more fun. Is your new Porsche a 911?

Bernd - thanks for the information. My new car is a GT Silver GT3. We are planning as much driving on moutain roads as the weather will allow, but obviously cannot take the top off. Prost.

Congrats! Very well selected. With a GT 3, the trip to switzerland or even italy should be a matter of minutes, not hours. ;-)

Take care on german "autobahn" and then enjoy the mountains.

Thanks again for the warm welcome. It`s very interesting to read here - my problem is the english language, when writing own statements. School days are long ago...

Hi Bernd.
I love your car. I am also looking for a nice WTL cab or a America roadster.
I hope to find one some day.

John
