I'll wait about 5 years for this new model to be totally rejected by the Porsche community then pick up a nice fully depreciated example to sit next to my 928.

Anyone else have a problem with the rear lightrs on that? the rear shape is ok, but the rear lights make it look like it should be going in that direction (wellI suppose it can in recerse, but you know hwat I mean!)

I also hope they build a two door version.
Unfortunately, it seems like that is destined to happen. It will be interesting to see how the 911 community reacts to the Cayman, Cayman S and the Cayman Club Sport (especially if they start racing the CS). Imagine a Cayman CS with the Cayenne TT V8 squeezed into it? just daydreaming . . .

I never understand why self proclaimed Porsche afficianados "dis" Porsche for moving beyond
the 911. The loudest gripes always seem come from folks who never actually plunk down the
cash to buy a new or used Porsche, so, frankly, I hope, no, I'm glad Porsche ignores them.
I picked up a "previously owned" 97 993 a few years back over a Boxster because it has rear seats.
My older son loves riding in the car and I'm soon going to put another car seat in the back for the
younger son.
I was the second customer at the dealership to drive a Porsche Cayenne the day they were
released. Loved the handling and acceleration, gas mileage was weak and no third row which
the wife wanted. In the end, the Acura MDX was priced competively to the base Cayenne,
had more horsepower and torque and a better power to weight ratio and the third row the
wife wanted. I still would love to have Cayenne.
I swore that if Porsche came out with a sedan to compete with BMWs, ($45K to $60K), I'd
seriously consider it.
My only gripe with the Porsche Panamera is that it is priced higher than I want to pay.
The 993 is gonna get a bit tight soon. I enjoy driving it. I trade off between it and my
wife's 2000 BMW station wagon hand-me down which is also a great driving car.
Reality is I love my Porsche. I really like my BMW and Acura. Anything that keeps
the Porsche brand and great products alive, competitive, and relatively affordable is
cool in my book. If Porsche came out with their version of the SMART, I'd say more
power to them. I hope they make and sell lots and lots of Panameras so there'll be
even more available for us potential "previously owned" buyers.
