@RickRST
a bit late, but maybe still helpful:

Step by Step instructions on how to use M.I.B can be found here:

Has anyone checked to see that Fix SVM Error actually clears the error?

Backup Log says:

Everying works fine on the PCM, but when I scan using Launch X431 I get:

Diagnostic path: Automatically Search > Boxster(982) > System Selection > PCM/CDR (Communication
Management/Cd Radio)
Diagnostic Result
B201A00 PCM - software update not confirmed (000613)

I have run the Fix SVM Error a couple of times & NO luck clearing it permanently.

SVM will not change functionality of your unit in any way.
Normally SVM fix is working no idea, why it does not in your case. Not sure for PORSCHE, but in all other brand you can manually clear the error via OBD.

Did you try this?

Yes, I can clear the error, but it comes straight back on next scan.

You need to use one of the xor calculators and replace the code using piwis, it fails but after that you can clear it and it seems to go away.

Found this on an Audi site. I will be trying once I get my harnesses. Let me know if someone already tried this.

What if I got Bose / Bang Olufsen audio system?

Caution: If your car is equipped with BOSE (8RQ or 8RY) or BANG & OLUFSEN sound system and don’t know how to recode it… we recommend that you unselect it from list (using User- Defined Mode) before update.

Or you can use the fibre optic loop adapter, you can buy one here!

PLEASE AWARE!!!!! FOR MIB units you need to use this optic loop!! on Mib you can’t use hidden green menu as there’s no option to enable it.

If you have Mib1 / Mib2 / RMC and bose or B&O, you must use this fibre optic loop adapter, otherwise bose system will stop working properly!!

Or you can unselect BOSE module to update in User-defined mode

How to enable User Defined mode?

You will need access to the Hidden Green Menu

Go in to Hidden green menu

Scroll down and find SWDL
Hidden green menu > SWDLGo in to this option
Hidden green menu > SWDL > user defined modeand tick that options
after that you can follow tutorial and check if BOSE / BANG & OLUFSEN its unselected for update.

Find BoseG3_Q7 or BoseG3_ or BSG3C7_ANC or BO_Q7 / BO_D4 / BO_C7 / AMP_LC_P (depends of car model you have, always will be starting with BSG/Bose/BO) and take every tick off until there is a letter N near Bose. To do it, you need to enter to this item, and change near all items to N in all second rows. So, finally near Bose should stand N.

Following instructions and using the update from here (https://github.com/harman-f/MHI2_US_...6_1-MU1476-AIO), the update worked perfectly on my 2017 Cayenne S. Bose is excluded from the update, so no issues with losing it. I now have Android Auto!

Late to the party but just to clarify - the Firmware updates provide updates the the apps and operations already enabled on the device? (eg Gracenote, DVD, Radio etc) and the MIB part is a GEM hack to allow you to modify what FECs are enabled?

Therefore the AIO Firmware files encompass both of the above items into one neat package to perform the whole shebang?

I ask because I have installed a Firmware file into my unit without issue, but it was not an AIO file. So to get the carplay/AA working I should load a separate MIB launcher plus the patch for my (new) firmware? Or should I try and load a full AIO firmware over the top of the latest one I just did?

Thanks

I would suggest running the whole all-in-one update, just so you don't have to mess with figuring out what pieces need to be installed separately.

The AIO update was pretty painless and there are decent instructions.

Note: There were a couple minor procedure variations that I experienced which are documented here: https://www.planet-9.com/threads/por.../#post-2215666

Thanks ledbette,

My understanding was that I already have all the firmware updates installed form the full file I loaded and its now simply the MIB bit that activates GEM to get into the Carplay/AA and SVM fix menu?

I.e. the AIO file is now redundant as the firmware is done and if I use the MIB file only I will get the GEM menu to activate Carplay/AA and do the SVM fix?

You are correct. As stated above, it's just a matter of whether you want to go through the trouble of figuring out what you need to download and how to install it vs just following the AIO directions. If you've got that all figured out, then fire away.
