Just a few days ahead of us! Apparently my ED package was delivered to my dealer back in mid July but was never notified about it by my dealer. Luckily I asked about it yesterday -- they are sending it my way now. Whew.

 

I did ED in July driving three weeks through Europe. About 2000 miles overall.

Car presentation, lunch, factory tour and visit to Museum were fantastic.

Drove from Zuffenhausen to Black Forest, Hohenzollern castle, Boden See, Vaduz, Davos, Bormio, St. Moritz, Como, Bellagio, Portofino, Cinque Terre, Nice, Cannes, Montpellier, Andorra, Geneva, Sindelfingen.

Did Umbrail and Bernina passes. Planned for few more, including Stelvio, but wife was bit terrified with Umbrail pass, so decided to reduce passes. Around Andorra drove through beautiful mountain roads.

I reserved hotels mostly with garages; much safer, as some of the towns we visited are old with tiny streets/parking.

Phenomenal experience. Certainly planning to repeat it.

 

you only received package 10 days before ED pickup date. I’m doing ED Leipzig October 25th was open to get package at least by sometime in September. Booked flights already just waiting for booking hotels and route i going to take. Thinking Leipzig to Prague, Salzburg Austria, then head towards Swiss alps (hopefully can get some info what passes should be passable in late October)then off to Zurich, Black Forest Baden Baden then Stuttgart then off to the ring.(unfortunately will be on winter tires) Should i just start Booking hotels and not wait for European Delivery Package?

 

To be fair, i was simply posting that today. I received the kit last week while i was at the dealership and i believe they had received it a couple weeks prior. As long as your date is confirmed, i wouldn't wait to book everything else. Thats what we did anyway...

 

My ED is September 21st and I've booked all my hotels. I still have yet to receive the ED Package. I'm assuming their commitment is solid.

I used to spend a lot of time in Switzerland with my cousins and many passes tend to close in October. That was about 25 years ago and things have warmed up a bit since then but you may want to do some research. It will be around or below freezing. We decided to head south to Nice for our trip to stay in the warmer weather. You can see my post above for the routes.

I "ordered" in Oct 21. We could have had a ED date of Jun 30th, but Aug 30 which was the second option worked best for us.

 

i mean actually purchase car, pay for it. Sign paperwork.

 

For me, final paperwork was completed July 23rd.

 

Mine finally came in. Feels really real now!

I booked everything once I had my date confirmed. Why wait for the ED package?

Even if you decide to change, most hotels have more flexible terms nowadays.
