Default Body Shop Recommendations

So, I hit a deer today with my 993 about 15 minutes after getting the car out of storage for the weekend! Anyone have recommendations for a trusted body shop in the Wilmington DE or West Chester PA area?

Cavallo in West Chester has done terrific work for me in the past. Chris Brookes is the man.

I completely agree with Cavallo. They are one of only a few Porsche certified auto body specialists as well. I hit a 45 pound Raccoon with my car and they took care of me nicely. Had the car a month tho. OP I feel your pain. Looking at the damage on that beautiful car feels like a family member is sick. Thankfully it will get well again. Good luck to you.

Anyone hitting the Dilworthtown Wine Festival tomorrow? They have a nice little car show as part of the event and the weather looks decent for tomorrow.

Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll reach out to him.

I appreciate the advice and the sympathy. Looking at the car is painful, but the important thing is that there were no injuries (other than the deer)!

I am sorry to hear you hit a deer. Thank god you are ok, because this could have been 10x worse.

I would avoid Cavallo (Newtown Square) at all cost. I had nothing but a bad experience with them. I also hit a deer, but with an SUV.

- They reused old parts, yet got paid for new ones. Adjusted the estimates and cost receipts like nothing to it - aka cooked the books on the fly.
- They used my car to run their errands on. I had a dash cam in the car, which was clearly visible, and not hidden.
- They messed up painting my bumper, and had to repaint it again. Still was a poor job.
- They messed up a large plastic piece from using jacks on my car.

The worst experience I ever had. I literary traded the car the very next day.

There is a shop that handles only high end cars in the area. The name escapes my mind at the moment, but people even ship their cars form other states here for work. When it comes to me, I will update this post. I wish I went there, but the wait time was much longer.

Thanks! Please let me know if you remember the name of that shop. I am not particularly concerned about wait time as the car is usually garaged between December and March. I assumed that no matter where I took it, I wasn’t going to be driving it again this season.

My info is very old, but the work I saw from them back in the day was great. Sorry about your beauty 1st state, but I am sure she will be good as new when done. And the important thing is no one was hurt. If you get a frunk lid and want to keep driving it (obviously after a windscreen) let me know and I will come by and help you swap it. Or if you need anything else, just let me know.

And may I suggest she would look stunning with a RUF front bumper .... been eyeing them at rstrada. Now is the time to do any body upgrades since she will be getting some paint work.
