I've run a couple practices, but I've lost some confidence in my ability to run consistently after the last couple weeks in our league. I can blast out a hotlap that's reasonably competitive, but I can't maintain it.
Last night after our race, I loaded up the default set and was able to run quick and consistent for a few laps. My conclusion is that I know how to make a setup worse... The tire temps and wear seem like they come from a random number generator. Adjusting based on them took me way off in the wrong direction. I might just chill out with the default set for a while.

I can't make the race next week as i leave for vacation @ Disney world with my family this Sunday. Too bad as I love brands hatch .. Hopefully everyone has a good race.
This car/series produces some great racing.. Just entered another Porsche Cup race last night at Summit and it was excellent. My race participation is going to be much higher with this series/car.

I'll likely miss Sunday practice this week (signed up for a private karting event with my son and didn't realize until last night that it starts at 4pm, and it's an hour away...)
Stinks because I'll definitely need practice, Brands is a track I don't know at all. Might host a session in the morning or something, if I do - I'll post it up here.
Also, I ran a bunch last night in practice at Summit. I ran MY set @ 23psi, then the default set, then adjusted the default set to even out the tire pressures at 26 all around, then went back to my set, then adjusted my set to be 26psi all around....
And I was still 0.5s quicker with my set than the default. The default DOES put the power down better... BUT it also SNAPS under power. Mine seems to lose it earlier but is more progressive, and in trade I seem to have a tiny bit more bite in the nose.
I did seem a liiiitle more consistent at 26psi than 23, but not by much. I'll go back to trying 26 for this week I think and see how it fares. Or I might split the difference and try 24-25.

Lol! @ pmason!
Jim - karting with your son sounds like fun! I can't wait until i can start my son karting (he is only 3).
Good testing work... Sometimes i wish the default had slightly less understeer.

We started him when he was 5, there was a place about an hour from us that had kid karts. They closed down shortly after we got him into it... next closest place was over 3 hours away. Wasn't until about the last year or so that the indoor place out here had a kids program.
And I agree, wish the default setup had less understeer. Sort of. If that's how the real car handles, then so be it... I'd rather have accuracy and learn to drive around the understeer. But it's definitely annoying. I like the challenge of it but if I bought one in real life I'd probably be pretty upset knowing I had to "fight" the car every time.

I added 3 new members this weekend. Nice to see the league growing a bit again! This week there is an update, so things might change slightly between practice Sunday and race Wednesday.
As a refresher for the rules for everyone: Be nice! That's the only rule that if broken will get you kicked out. We're all trying to race our best, so if you get taken out, be nice. If you take someone out, be nice. Try hard, keep getting faster is the approach we all take.
