Ok re-did one video (figured out how to do telemetry overlay on the Rift cam) and recorded the normal TV camera replay.

Hey - fun stuff last night (he says to the old stripper). Anyhoo - whatever tracks you guys want to run I just enjoy the time on track. Nordscheiffe is huge undertaking but I also mentioned the Lemans track... See you guys soon!
LOL That last couple laps was fun. Thanks fur the point by Ben but I think the scruits took it away with the penalty on the last turn.
Good times for sure! Not at all the way I would have liked that to end, the point by was the least I could do. I think I ended with an 18 second penalty, so not quite sure how things shook out in the end. I tried to access the results yesterday at work, but it was taking forever to load.
My tires were pretty much gone so I was tiptoeing a bit trying not to lose it on the last lap. You were pushing hard. iRacing really needs to fix their algorithm for figuring out when someone is gaining time off course vs recovering from an off after already loosing a bunch of time.
I forgot where to look for results. A search brings up results from 2014.
Edit:
Did we do Lime Rock?
That was a nice recovery after the first contact. I don't think you were staying on the track even if I wasn't there on the second one.

We did LRP back in November I think, or possibly October?
Hey all, just bought a new computer with the latest video card, Thrustmaster T300R steering wheel/pedal and stand set and Oculus Rift! Should be all setup to join you all sometime next week.
So how do I connect with you guys?

In case anybody is bored... JustinL and I are running the Daytona24 this weekend.
Here's a livestream of our group. We are the Know Good Beer / Bilt Racing Service entry in the C7 DP.

That was pretty fun and exciting race. I don't think there was a single lap where there wasn't some kind of pass. Jim and I each ran 225 laps over 2 stints of 3 hours each. It's tough , but great fun. Our pace was strong, but a few contacts with GT3 cars kept us in the pits getting repairs. Some of the GT3 cars looked like battering rams by the time I got out there.
It was a blast! Love love love endurance racing. So much can happen.
My first stint (opener) went well, had a really good group out there. Not a lot of stupid moves. One GT driver that was very vocal on the #drivers channel, complaining about "bad C7 drivers" and, not surprisingly, he's the one that ALMOST caused a wreck with me entering the bus stop one lap. I made 2 mistakes in the first stint - one, a very low-speed spin on my out lap thanks to cold tires.... and one, I got out on the marbles exiting the infield (the marbles... oh, they're real!) which let me slide sideways into the tire wall. No damage though... but I was still pretty irritated with myself, I'm normally clean!
Ran in P6 for a while, as far as P3 once we got into the pit stops for my first stint.
My 2nd stint came at ~8:30pm. Car was down on speed, there were a few minor incidents involving GT's before I got back in the car... but the car otherwise felt good. Again running P6. I was ON THE BUTT of P5, he was a lap ahead (maybe two laps?) but pulling some REALLY overly-aggressive (and unnecessary) moves in traffic. I opted to settle in behind him, let him just clear the way, and I'd walk through the holes he left. Plan was to just keep the pressure on, and with the dumb moves he was making, figured he'd eventually take himself out.
We came upon a GT car entering the Int'l horseshoe. GT car dove down and took his apex like normal, RIGHT in front of P5 - and P5 bumped him. GT skittered off to the left (but still pointed forward) and P5 went through. I was inches off of P5, followed him through. Saw the GT (still moving in the correct direction of travel) disappear from my peripheral (so I was definitely AHEAD) then suddenly BANG from the left rear, instant spin, and wall.
I have a feeling the GT thought *I* was the guy who hit him and it was retaliatory - but not sure. My system didn't save the replay so I couldn't review it later.
That knocked us out for a bit for repairs, I came back out in P14 or P15? Worked my way back up to P12 before getting out of the car right around midnight.
Rest of the event was mostly uneventful. Between Justin and the other 2 guys on our team, we got back up to P6. One more "incident" with a GT put us in P7 for the finish.
We started P11 and even with all the drama... that P7 finish felt good!

My biggest incident was one of the vocal BMW drivers with a barely recognizable car that cut across the pit exit line as I was coming out of the pits and dragged his car along the side of ours. That's what caused the damage before you got in Jim. It slowed the car down a bit, but worse was I had to drive the car with the front right fender crumpled so I couldn't see the apexes of the right handers.
I still marvel at the amount of cars on track at the same time. It's so rare to get a lap that doesn't involve making a pass on another car. I can't wait for time of day changes. That would add so much to a 24 hour race. Now it's like racing in the arctic when the sun never rises.
We should get a Rennlist team together if there's an endurance race with the Porsche.
