I'd love to see the GT4 ClubSport too, though considering there's no other GT4 class cars in the sim, I'm guessing that won't happen.... but I can dream... (or play Assetto...)
Hi all,
Can someone give me a hand with setting up the rift for Iracing? Still getting jittering through the rift. when I start a session everything looks ok, the more I drive the worse it gets to the point I can't drive any more. I also play Elite Dangerous and the same thing happens there. I know it's not a hardware issue. This machine SHOULD kick butt.
Already my lap times are improving with the rift. Not earth shattering but going in the right direction.
Any help would be appreciated.
( Can't wait for the Porsche's to start showing up in iRacing !)

Yes - that machine should handle the Rift NO problem.
I did catch a thread on the iRacing forums (VR section) about poor performance after the 12/20 update. The guys that reported problems mentioned disabling "Dynamic track" and getting their performance back. Might want to try that.
Also, it might be tied to graphics card version. 375.95 was a revolutionary performance improvement, and 376.09 carried that performance. I'm on 376.09 and have been paranoid to change lest I lose the performance. It might be worth trying 376.09.
BUT before you do either of those, try resetting the graphics config for iRacing. From within the iRacing browser menu, click "Settings" in the top menu (all the way to the right, below the "TEST" button), that should open up a grey box, and within that box is a "LAUNCH GRAPHICS CONFIG" choice. Hit that, let it run, then retry.
When 375.95 came out, most people didn't see the performance boost until they re-ran the graphics config tool. My system is more or less running exactly how the graphics config tool set it and I sit pretty at 90fps all day long, even with a full grid. I have a slightly lesser machine than you, too (a 1070 vs. your 1080 and only 16gb of RAM) and am running 376.09 driver version.

Rift, this is drivng me nuts !
Again thanks for all the help. Tried everything suggested and getting nowhere. I also purchased a new wheel this last week and decided to configure the buttons. I used the flat screen and found I get a steady 90fps everywhere even at 4k resolution. Only getting 45 - 55 on the rift. Also noted that i'm getting the jittering in anything I use the rift on, including demos and freebee stuff from the Oculus site. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Oculus software. Not sure where to go from here.
Hope I can get this fixed before the Porsche is released.

This might sound silly but I'll ask it anyways: you don't by chance have the Rift plugged into a HDMI port that's on the *motherboard* instead of the one on the *graphics card*, do you?

rift ????
Nope, plugged into the Nvidia card, the monitor is plugged into the DVI port on the Video card, that shouldn't mess anything up should it ?
Also getting that frying bacon sound through the head set speakers, thought maybe it's a power issue, but have a 1000 watt corsair power supply.
Monitored heat and usage of the cpu and Video, not even hitting 140 degrees F. Video card usage is not even hitting 40%

I just installed a EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Founders Edition, 8GB last week, working ok for me, have both the monitor and HDMI in the video card.
There are some good tips here: http://members.iracing.com/jforum/po...t/3489433.page

I almost considered signing up for the DE down there, it's the week after the Rolex this year. Would've just driven down, stayed at Brian's, then cruised out that Tuesday.
However, with Mo bailing on the event + Brian moving to NC that Monday (literally heading up to NC the morning after the Rolex ends) I opted out.
Still hope to get down there and run some laps in real life someday.

It was my first time driving the full track last night, so I only knew a small part of the track. I am assuming I have a second to gain in the first + last turns, and another second throughout the track.
That would have been fun to run the car down there. When we went to Daytona and Sebring I had no idea what turns I was looking at, it would be a different experience to go now after iracing.
I would love to DE Mosport, Road Atlanta, and Mid-Ohio one day.

I've noticed that too Doug! As a fan of motorsport, you can get a lot more out of watching a pro race if you've 'virtually' raced on the same track. I find I have a better feel for watching the track when I know it so intimately. Even watching Formula 1 around Suzuka or Spa is better after racing there. Abu Dhabi still seems like a mystery to me. I recognize some sections and corners... but I don't understand them.

Question for the other Rift users. Do any of you with the Rift wear glasses?
Wondering if anyone as pick up those prescription lenses holders? or change the Rift. While it fits over my glasses, it has been touching the lenses and have scratched them, did try adding a foam strip to the forehead section to try and hold it out a little further.
