LRP definitely gets cramped - I still can't believe IMSA actually runs there. Looks like a beautiful place but it's SHORT.

I had not driven LimeRock in a long time, and I was pleasantly surprised that after this season's update to the amount of traction the cars have over grass, going out in T1 doesn't result in an imminent crash.

You can actually take the uncambered part of the track, have two wheels on the grass, and make it work!

Tonight was quite the epic battle. I have to say Jason is an amazing driver. I almost had a heart attack after it was over. Though I'm pretty sure Jason didn't break a sweat.

Here are some pics:

Jim would you be able to make a youtube clip out of this? Some time ago David Tucker posted that they were working on a youtube export feature in iRacing. That would be neat.

Wow some really awesome photos man!!!!

I'm in NYC on business through Friday. I'll try to remember to check back in here on Saturday. I have to be on my iRacing PC to be able to "export" to YouTube. (I essentially have a video capture program that records my screen.)

I couldn't find much speed last night. I tried and failed to get my three monitor setup running before the race. Then I decided to go try one more thing about midnight. Turned it on and it was working. Very cool! I was up until 2:00 am playing with it.

Yeah triples are a great upgrade from a single monitor.

Now you need to try out an Oculus Rift.

The triples made me a little nauseous at first. I'm not sure I could handle VR.

That's what happened to me when I first upgraded. It was a bit surreal at first, as it seemed like too much was going on.

Make sure your FOV is set up exactly as if you're projecting real life. Eventually it should feel natural.

It's almost a must for mosport and being able to nail the apex coming out 5 into 6.

Yeah, I still need to tweak it but it's going to be really nice to be able to race side by side and actually see where someone is. I usually back off if I'm in doubt. No more!

I had a really hard time hitting that apex last night with one monitor. The damn radio box was right in the way and I couldn't reach my keyboard to turn it off.

Well, I can tell you firsthand THAT is not realistic!

Not going to make it tonight guys - tied up with other stuff.

I did convert Bedo's .rpy to video, just haven't uploaded it yet. Do the same this week and I'll try to get them both uploaded. I have good cameras for Mid-O.

Just wanted to pose the question, how can we boost race attendance? Or maybe the question are the reasons people can't make it?
Again last night was 6 of us, good for us that want to get points your always in the points :-)

But its more fun with a larger group.

Do we think its a time of day? Day of week? Not enough variety tracks/cars? Or something else?

We seem to have lost a lot of the older regulars. Not sure what happened to them.

I have a lot of unexpected chaos going on so my attendance has been spotty... sorry guys This is a great group to run with! Used to be easier when my wife would work late on Wednesdays - had enough time to get home, feed the kiddo, and log on. She hates the simulator and now that she's home on Weds nights I have roadblocks to navigate before getting on... and sometimes am not successful.

Yeah, my wife hates "my car ****" too.

Unfortunately last night's race wasn't very interesting. I couldn't keep up with Jason and was struggling with the setup of the car and the track.

Yeah.

I try to tell her I could be sitting at a bar somewhere instead of being home and in the basement... she doesn't seem to care. Maybe I should sell the sim rig and use the money to fund a new bar tab?
