Sorry got tied up this week (still) so I didn't setup a practice. Next week I probably will.

Also I need someone to add a friend to our group. Who can do that still? I have his info.

Iracing just announced they are adding the ring, we definitely have to put that on the list next year when it comes out.

Finally with an "off" weekend, I spent some time in the sim.

No Rift DK2 support for iRacing means I'm stuck between Live For Speed and Euro Truck Simulator 2.

DK2 is a game changer. Being able to lean forward, look around... holy crap. I hope iRacing doesn't bungle the implementation - LFS and ETS2 both did a great job. While DK2 resolution is much improved over DK1, it's still not anywhere as clear as my 24" monitor. However, being able to lean forward to read smaller text makes the low resolution IMO a non-issue.

But man... I am really missing iRacing. LFS is so dry. AI is pretty bad, and the online stuff is awful - either wreckfests or cars going WAY WAY faster than mine (my guess: hacks/mods). Totally addicted to ETS2 tho. Not a lot of action but the immersion is fantastic. Tune in to an internet radio station, set the cruise control, and roll along the highways LOL. I'm quite enjoying the 700hp Volvo I just bought in the game...

The Oculus stuff coming after the DK2 looks spectacular too. Resolution is going up again, refresh rate too. I might have to retire my triple screens when I finally get one. It should be easier to find some time to practice and race now that my race season is over. I still like the Rennlist races the best and I'm looking forward to the season opener.

Ditto! It's a lot more fun when you know everybody in the race. I just hope they actually get DK2 support in before our season starts or I'm going to miss a few rounds. They haven't officially confirmed if it's going to be in the next build or not.

I am really hoping the support will be there and that I will receive the unit before the season starts. The house is sort of sucking me dry here, and I don't really want to buy a new TV for upstairs right away. I guess I could park my rig in front of the old TV again, but that might cause me to get executed in the middle of the night or something.

What's pricing look like on the Rift? I was thinking of going to triple screens but this is enticing...

It's 350 for the development kit. The consumer version is expected to be in the $200 to $400 range.

Unless they somehow delay DK2 support (for an extended period) in iRacing... I wouldn't bother investing in triples. Heck, after a few hours of use (to get accustomed to the low resolution), I consider the *DK1* to be superior to triples. DK2 = no contest.

iRacing has been a little bit wishy-washy on when they plan to integrate DK2 support. The strongest rumor has been "the October build" but they are doing a good job of not confirming it. I'm sure it'll come eventually but seeing how it IS a "beta" piece I can see it being low on their priority list of enhancements.

IMO - I'd get on the list for a DK2 now. Suck it up with the single monitor for the time being unless it's not that big of a deal to plunk down a few hundred bucks for monitors that will only be used a short while. Once you experience the Rift you will NOT want to go back to a monitor.

Yep though I've always heard $300-$350 as the expected pricing for CV1.

If the CV1 is the same "leap" from a DK2 as the DK2 is from the DK1... I'd happily pay double.

I pre-ordered mine a long *** time ago, and they just recently pinged me because my address changed with the move. I have not received a shipment email, and I have not checked to see if my CC was charged, but I am pretty sure it was.....
