what's interesting is this is the first non race car in iracing (at least, I don't think the RUF is raced anywhere).

Kevin, will this be a trend?

I guess it depends on how you define racecar. The RUF has a cage and some people do race it. Is it a race car then? Sure, there is no spec series for it but there isn't a spec series for the Solstice either, it is raced however.

Next car out should be the McLaren MP4-C, then the RUF after that. Sorry, I can't be more specific than that.

We will paint it, put decals on it, transform it into a "Porsche 911 Cup car" in iRacing and it will be extremely popular i'm sure. Way to go in getting around Porsche's locked in licensing with EA (or whoever)! Will it be the 720 HP version or a tamed down example?

I agree! We will build the full car, RWD version. All 700+ HP!

thanks, I think it could be a bit of a philosophical shift, but I wasn't aware of anyone racing the RUF, at least in a pro series.

I also ask because I get people asking me all the time "oh sweet, a racing simulator, can I drive an Aventador!", and I have to remind them that it's iracing, not idrivingtothenightclubs

LOL I like that response

I've had the occasional person say the same thing when I try to turn them on to iRacing. "Oh - there's only like 12 cars in it. What fun is that?"

iRacing is different, IMO, than most other simulators out there now, in that, it's about the RACING first. If you don't have a passion or at least strong interest in RACING you'll probably get bored pretty quickly there.

yep, most of the console "racing simulators" aren't simulators and don't use race cars

iracing is a whole 'nother kettle of fish. not many get it, but those who do get hooked like a Missouri truck stop hooker gets hooked on meth.

Fun time last night, as usual

I used Justin's set - a little odd-handling, but it worked well enough. I added a little more rear brake bias and a few more gallons of fuel but otherwise ran it as-is. Okayama is a tight course for the DP.

Oh - and the rest of you guys need to get a clutch pedal for these standing start deals!

Odd handling!? LOL Ok fair enough, the back end liked to come around a bit much in the tight corners. I found the tires really went away around lap 10.

Maybe we should try a fixed set sometime with very low fuel to force a pitstop.
