Hey I know that car, you can when both parties are working together, me and George did it fine once, but I tried it with someone else and it didn't work out so well, at least for me :-) Didn't have enough angle of attack on the entry. No fault of the other driver, it was me.
Agree first lap into it will be interesting, I'm going to play it cautious, just hope no one runs into me.

On the first lap the S's will get us pretty single file and getting a run on someone into the chicane will be a lot harder so I hope there will be a much lower probability of incidents there. T1 can be interesting with those that don't take a progressive remerge approach when they wash out wide on the exit of T1.

Agreed Tom. If you're inside, stay tight because there WILL be cars on the outside coming back from the runoff.

I think there will be some moves on the entry to the bus stop on lap 1, but the only difference is that there will be other cars behind that need to see the situation developing. The bus stop is not my favorite place to pass because of the risk. You really have to make the pass on the straight before turn-in. I prefer to stick to the bumper and try to get a run down the carousel and take the inside into the left hander that enters the boot. The heel and toe are also pretty tempting if you get a run. And of course T1 is another great opportunity.

Gonna be fun

I might host a practice before the offial session if anyone is up for it

Left work early to beat the snow traffic at rush hour

Grabbing my skinny mocha latte and home in 10

I could be game. Got halfway to work this morning and the wife called to tell me my little guy was sick. She started a new job today so I had to turn around and come home. Nothing like reversing a commute that had already taken me almost 2 hours to get where I was when I turned around!

So I'm home. I can probably join in early.

I'd be up for a practice session. I haven't gotten to run any laps in the car at Watkins Glen yet. What kind of times are you guys running?

Not sure yet, but something to replace my 6870 with 1 gig of ram. If I don't see a noticeable improvement I will just take it back. Not sure if more ram would rally help as much add the more powerful processor (ie not sure I need 4, massive just two gigs).

If I host
Any way to match my session track condition with the actual race session conditions?

Or is it random?

It's random weather. It's like that so nobody can get an advantage by practicing and fine tuning a setup to the exact conditions that we will race in until the session starts. Times are a little harder to compare as we've seen this week when neither Tom nor I could get into the 1:46es, but now I see Tom ran a 1:45 in a different session.
