Rennlist iRacing thread
Guys I know your racing right now, would like to join next week, signed up for iRacing already, my wheel/pedals/shifter is coming on Friday, so I will trying to pick this up over the weekend. Starting out on a Macbook air, but will probably end up building a 3 monitor system and building a cockpit setup.
If all goes well I will join next week, looking on the site now to see if I can even see you guys. Anyway to just watch?

The discount counts whether you buy extra cars or tracks. So 1 car and 2 tracks should give you the discount. Tracks you might want to consider: Road America, Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen, mid-ohio, sebring, and daytona.
. Then i started to catch Justin after the spin because of the draft, but pushed to hard again and spun in the exact same spot. sooner or later Im going to put it all together for a whole raceYeah I have been working hard to be able to compete with you and Justin, and forgot to settle in and just race. I was trying hard to create a gap in the first couple laps that I almost blew it in the first turn on lap 2. Then all the sudden you were behind me and I couldn't seem to get much distance. I knew I was faster from t8 on but you were right back on me by t5. Funny thing is I thought you were on rails and forgot all about the draft

Throwing down a lightning fast lap or two is good but throwing down a bunch of less-lightning, but-reasonably-fast laps is better. Work on consistency and the speed will come. Had you not spun, and just kept your pace up I wouldn't have been able to get around you. I watched most of the replay - you and I were nose-to-tail for a good 5-6 laps. That was great! The draft definitely helped keep me close. With the draft you and I kept the gap fairly constant on Justin. Once you fell off, Justin started gaining maybe 2-3 tenths a lap on me. I had to dig really deep to hold him off - it seemed that every lap, I'd go faster, and he'd STILL gain 2 tenths. Next lap even faster.. and another 2 tenths would evaporate. I got down to an 11.2, my PB there, and he was still gaining.
Yeah, absolutely consistency trumps raw speed. Jim proved that as well, as I dropped a couple of wheels pushing to catch up. My problem spot was "the kink" where I was trying to carry too much speed and pushed wide on exit.
It really was an interesting race for me because I dumped it on lap 1 and fell into the clutches of loxner, but got back into 3rd a lap later 5 seconds back from you two. I was stuck watching you guys hoping that your infighting would let me catch the draft again. When Sean spun and Jim lost the draft I figured that was my opportunity, but Jim's consistency was better than mine and I only caught a bit of a draft on the last lap about 2.8s behind. I went all out for the last 2 laps because I knew I was in good shape for second, but lost 1 second because of a bobble before the carousel.
