Hey guys, mind if a newbie joins you next week? What do I need to purchase in iRacing to be able to run with you? Also, I have to say - I'm not really good at online racing (at least from a few attempts I had so far at iRacing and simraceway).

What track next week? The new guys should decide because I'll race anything anywhere... except ovals.
I get the temp/humidity factor, and I'm sure that my times were off in part because I was using just some random setup. The oddity for me was I was using a setup all week and in our practice Sunday and it was fine. Then I logged in last night and the front was 2" too low . The rear was fine. I had actually saved 2 of the exact same setups just with different gearing, so I know it wasnt a setup change.

Oh well I guess at this point im just wondering what would cause that so I can be better prepared next time

Im open to any track. Road America is fine with me. I raced my chump car there a month ago it was a blast.

John and I just started 3 weeks ago, so new guys are definitely welcome. Last night we had 6 racers, the more the merrier.

You'll need either the McLaren or the Ford GT, once the Ruf becomes available we'll all be running that. We haven't had a definitive answer on the track this week but you may need to pick up tracks if you only have the free ones.

If you guys are wanting to buy tracks we could run Road America, Daytona, Sebring for the next three. That way you can get a discount on a bulk purchase. After that the next group of purchase tracks in the new year should be Mosport, Kansas Speedway, and the Glen. I still need to buy Kansas, but Tudor USCC is racing there this season, so I think we should give it a shot. If you are getting all 6, then you get the bigger discount.

For cars, you need any of: Ford GT, McLaren, RUF RT12R (when released)

Just to clarify one other thing too. Everyone gets a replacement car during the race, you just have to hobble back or (get towed) to the the pits. If you damage your car to the point it's not fun anymore, just grab a new one

Also in our series there is no disqualification for incidents despite the fact that it shows a limit. I wish they would change that so it doesn't show (1x/17) when nothing happens at 17.

I had to get towed back last night, I didn't have any really bad off track excursions during practice or qualifying. Had 2 during the race, one of which my car was damaged and I had to have it repaired. That's how I ended up 4 laps down

I'm about to pick up 6 tracks, but I'm also trying to look at what D class series I want to run in. Right now I'm narrowed to Mid-Ohio, the glen, Road American, and Road Atlanta. All four of those tracks run in the skippy and the ford spec series.

The weight of the fuel in race trim can make a big change in the handling of the car. I nearly took out Jim in T1 because I overcooked the braking zone and had to bail out of that corner as safely as possible.

This is why I only ever practice in fuel/race setup.
Its everything i have to keep pace with you and Jim, and still you guys regularlyleave me in the dust. the last thing I need is to practice with just a few gallons then fill it up and plow through T1

Huh, I rolled mine last night, pitted for repairs and even then it barely drove. I did skip the optional repairs though. When it drove so badly I just quit the race. I'll figure out how to get the new car, I'm guessing you just reset as you would in practice.

Thanks Justin.

Btw, it shows my name as John but everyone calls me Jack. That 44 car out there would be me.

So Road America next week?

I'm down for Road America! It's a real fun track on Forza.

I finally got some additional tracks, used up my gift card and then some. Daytona, Mid-ohio, Oulton park, Road America, Road Atlanta, Sebring, and Watkins Glen. I'll probably run Ford Spec after my license is promoted, it was a cheaper route and my quick test drive was better than the skippy.
