Actually, if you look at the images of the positional data in RS2 vs the same data in Google Earth you will see that the relative locations from session to session are different in GE that in RS2. I can't speak to the accuracy of the GPS data that is recorded within the AIM devices, but I can definitely confirm that what you get when you output the data from RS2 is different than what it is within RS2. Hence my opinion that there is an export problem.

It's possible the software does some error correction on the fly, but just exports raw data.

Good point. Hopefully whatever it is will get fixed.

Is there a third-party GPS module that will work with the newer AiM dashes? One that offers more accuracy or more granularity?

No.

Now, I have not experienced the issues our Texas friends have alluded to, but then I do not use GPS for that purpose... Will you?

I've been communicating with Roger, and today AIM published an update to RS2 that appears to correct the issue with .kml exports. Here are two laps from the same car with two different drivers.

Thank you Roger for great customer service!

Yep. 2.55.68 incorporates this.

AiM is fortunate to have a ton of good folks channeling these concerns to those that make the software and hardware. Great stuff!

Aha -- this has never worked properly for me before but the new version seems to do the trick; as you can see here if I did the sharing thing correctly.

Now if only Google would update their data to show an image of the track after the owners redid T13...two winters ago
