Removing brake dust on club sport wheels
What is the best and safest product to use to remove the brake dust from the inner wheel of the anodized forged club sports? I'll be removing the wheels of the car. Thanks.

I would say sonax wheel cleaner.

don't use any of the no-touch harsh stuff. sonax or p21S or griot's would be best.
mine were etched by a dealer who washed the car after servicing despite a request to not wash the car. they used degreaser and ultimately owed me about 700 buck to refinish them. I flipped that into a set of 17's!

Good advice already posted. You will likely need to use some type of agitation to remove the break dust since it is probably baked on. To remove the road tar you can try something like goof off which is a stronger citrus based solvent.
If you want to get the wheels really clean you can follow the cleaning step with clay.
Make sure you protect the wheels when you're done, that will help to keep the contaminants off in the future.

Place I went to didn't have sonax, so i got the P21s. Here are some pics after P21s and goo gone for the tar and some hard core scrubbing.
After I get the new tires mounted and balanced, what should I use for the inner part to protect and easily remove the brake dust, etc.? Couple coats of wax? The inside is aluminum so I wasn't sure wax would work?

Looks great, nice job!
For protection a product like rejex or wheel wax works well. Many Porsche and other German car dealers sell wheel wax.

I would recommend going to a tire shop that will use adhesive wheel weights, not hammer the weights onto your wheels.
Looks good. I use P21S wheel cleaner. I have used a wheel wax but usually just wash them frequently enough that I keep them clean.

Wow. That came out great! I was about to suggest using one of those small steamer units to get through the baked-on crud on the back of the wheels, but you didn't need to get that drastic. Well done! Griots Garage has a new heavy-duty wheel cleaner that I would put on par with Sonax. [for future reference ]

P21S gel wheel cleaner is our choice for effective and SAFE cleaning. You can then rejex to protect and prevent heavy brake/rotor dust.
