Default Change hood emblem? Black theme?

So my 2021 Cayenne is white with the black highlights - black roof rails, black mirrors caps, and black door handles. It’s a GTS so I Have the clear rear tails, and I had my rear lower reflectors and the side markers up front all tinted. So the car is a stormtrooper….

I was thinking of changing the front emblem to something all black, or a dark theme. Anyone done that? Any pics? How hard is it to swap the emblem?

thanks.

I think @runbuh swapped a black hood crest.

Here’s a video of a guy replacing the hood crest on his Cayenne:

Here’s a tutorial from Pelican Parts site. They recommend using new speed nuts and gasket.

Anybody have a part number for that new black (turbo) emblem? It looks awesome.

EDIT: I found that Suncoast lists it, but its out of stock. "Porsche Hood Emblem - Turbonite"

Being new to Porsche - is there any kind of reason why I should not be changing my hood emblem for these cosmetic reasons? I look at it as - it’s my car i think a black emblem would look better as my car is all black white…

here is why I ask - I used to have a BMW and i can’t tell you how many times people would put an ///M badge on their 540 or base 3 series…and it just looked so tacky. Now putting a fake M badge on a car seems worse than just swapping the color of a Porsche hood crest… but I’m new to the Porsche brand. I don’t want to roll into my first PCA event and have them think I’m “trying to make my GTS look like a turbo” by doing this.

Any Porsche culture reason why swapping a hood emblem is frowned on???

and yes - where do I get that part number?

i think it is personal preference. some people will always prefer stock. some people like to mod. I am new to porsche as well. It is common for people get annoyed when people try to make a lower trim vehicle look like the higher trim vehicle, but that seems to go across brands. de badging seems to be popular now. you can order your car w/o badges regardless of trim. when i see a de badged car i assume base model but that isn’t always the case.

If you want to make the change then you should just do it.

I've found that people in the Porsche community are welcoming and share a mutual interest in the cars fed by enthusiasm for the experience and the brand.

There will always be a few that look for things to "frown upon". Don't bend to those folks.

Yes, this is called Porsche Crest Turbonite. This emblem is very new, introduced a month ago together with new Panamera. That is why it still doesn't exist in parts catalogues. But Porsche dealers will be able to identify the part number. The standard crest has the PN 9Y008887025, so I think that Turbonite Crest will have additional 3 numbers/letters at the end.
Edit. There should be also a version on the steering wheel airbag.

I would assume changing the one on the airbag would be more work??

. I would probably just change the one on the hood and leave the one inside standard. My car is due to go to the dealer for a scheduled service soon. I will see if I can get them to order it for me before I’m there so it’s ready for me.

No, not at all. Because until now, the monochrome badge wasn't at all related to the turbo model. I've seen countless white, black and silver Porsches all spec'd with various monochrome style hood badges. Also, depending on which wheels you have, it matches your center caps.

And since you are new to Porsche you need to know this before rolling up to your first PCA event —

There is only one correct way to align your wheel center caps. 😎

I like this one. Can I ask where you obtained this?
