Help me decide..Turbo model
Hi,
I have decided to upgrade my current Turbo model to a new Turbo model. Honestly, I thought about waiting till the refresh but decided against it as I actually like the mixture of analog and digital in the current version as well as the gear shifter near the console. With that said, which option would you pick (one is more performance based versus the other is maybe more looks based).
Option A: Chalk
Premium package, assistance package, real axle, sport chrono, sport exhaust, PDCC, PTV+, sport design package in high gloss black, 21 inch turbo wheels, soft close doors, trailer hitch, power sunblind rear windows, fuel cap, door sill guards in dark silver, logo satin black & model designation in high gloss black
Option B: Carrara White (slightly more $$)
Premium package, assistance package, real axle, sport chrono, sport exhaust, sport design package, 22 inch sport classic wheels, rear comfort seats, power sunblind rear window, trailer hitch, logo satin black & model designation in high gloss black, upper wing in high gloss black, deviated stitching interior package (chalk), central tachometer in white, clear led taillights, Porsche crest on Headrests, ionizer, under door paddle lights
Which would you pick? Leaning towards option A as think the extra performance features may be the better route but would I even notice not having PDCC and PTV+? Current Cayenne Turbo doesn’t have them. Both cars are very close in price.
Thanks!

Option A - if you seldom drive the vehicle to its limit when cornering, then PDCC and PTV+ may not mean too much to you.
I would probably go with option B. I like the sporty look of it.

PDCC completely changes the dynamics of the turbo, even in day to day driving - and I will always want that option. PTV also, but to a lesser extent, it's relatively unnoticeable unless in mud/sand or driving 9/10+. I'd go option A, but obviously subjective.
Do you have PDCC on you current Turbo? What do you think? Can you drive both?

On a turbo…PDCC and RAS is a given in my opinion. Don’t have to drive it to the edge to appreciate the improvement they provide. The vehicle is so stable and remains flat which improves the ride quality in everyday driving.

Thanks. I do not have PDCC, PTV+ or rear axle on my current Turbo. Current Turbo has sport chrono, sport exhaust and a number of design enhancement options. I am strongly leaning towards option A. Appreciate the perspective.

Friend of mine said the same thing. Appreciate the perspective.

PDCC a waste of money IMHO. I've had cars with and without, just makes it a bit stiffer and corners flatter but does nothing for street driving except make it slightly more uncomfortable.
You'll always get a positive opinion from those that have it.

Flatter in the corners obviously… less obvious is when it lets the tires move independently with less resistance. Bumps on one side of the car, offset dips that cause side to side tossing are lessened vs a traditional anti-sway bar.
The most extreme examples of what it is capable of doing are in the Porsche videos of its use when off road.
In my opinion for a top heavy SUV which will have larger and stiffer anti-sway bars technology like PDDC is far more useful. Obviously you do you but I wouldn’t spend the money on a Porsche without focusing on equipping it to drive like a Porsche.

So I was recently in a very similar situation in that I was shopping for a 21-22 CPO Turbo and was comparing a similar set of options - nothing seemed to hit everything I wanted at the time.
I ended up opting for a car quite similar to your Option B. That is, without PTV and PDCC but with virtually everything else including RAS... My 'option B' had deviated stitching in chalk, chalk seatbelts, and interior trim in exterior color (cararra white), center tach and sport chrono in white... Those options alone made the difference for me... the subtle change in colors and look made the interior SO much more of a pleasant place for my wife and I to be... it made the vehicle feel properly luxurious.
Do I miss PDCC/PTV - so far, no. I've done a few drives around Northern California windy roads and the vehicle is still plenty stable... it's a Porsche after all - the base-case here is damn good. I am never going to take the Cayenne to the track... but I am going to sit in it a lot so the quality and character of the interior mattered more for me.
Either way, you won't go wrong... and perhaps your type of driving should dictate. Do you want more luxury or more sport?

Thanks everyone. Right now, I put my deposit on the car with PTV+, PDCC, etc (first option - option A) but can change assuming the other car is available. Tough decision but as others have said can’t really go wrong. I failed to mention that this was a Coupe model which not sure how much a difference this makes. I also tend to like Chalk a little better than Carrara White but could be happy with either color. Really appreciate the thoughts and perspectives.

I thought there is no Turbo model currently...or are you talking TGT?

No. 2023 Cayenne Turbo. Most likely the last one before the refresh which will most likely be a 2025 GTS model like they did with the Macan. I like the current version with the mix of analog and digital as well as the shifter near the center console so getting a 2023. My understanding is the Turbo model will go away and the current GTS model will get a big upgrade in power and be the new Turbo model for 2025.

Yes, I got lucky. They had one that someone cancelled. I didn’t get to build it but their build had what I was looking for. My dealer said the same thing regarding Turbo and GTS allocations.

If you drive aggressively or if your daily drives include highway exits or mountain roads, you should never skip PDCC. I have a turbo with same specs as the first option and PDCC is the feature I like the most. It is VERY noticable
I personally won’t buy another Cayenne that doesn’t have PDCC since i always hated SUV’s body roll and thats what kept me away from them for years
The rule I follow in such hesitation moments is: Mechanic specs and driving dynamics first, then everything else comes second (exception if I dont like the car ext/int color)
