The Pedal Commander has significantly reduced the turbo lag and dramatically increased throttle response. The car absolutely feels perfect now: it commands the power it’s supposed to be utilizing IMO much quicker. It’s smoother more powerful and overall much quicker. All without adding more horsepower and adjusting fuel, air and other other engine parameters that could cause additional issues.

Just thought I’d add to this thread as this is a viable alternative IMO. Ask any questions.
Careful with that pedal commander, I had one installed and had to remove it because sometimes, not all the time my throttle would not respond and when making u turns or when I need to go it hesitated which is super dangerous. I also have the COBB tune now and you would not believe how much the car wakes up. If you experience any hesitation with the throttle remove that piece of junk pedal commander immediately. I even had them replace the first one I had and the second one did the same exact thing.

Sheesh that’s good to know. Will monitor carefully for the next day or so. Might end up with a tune after all!!

Let me know if you experience any of that, I'd say about once every day of normal driving it would happen. I like the pedal commander when it works correctly as I have had them in all my previous cars and never had an issue. Maybe they corrected the problem.

I’ll definitely let you know! I appreciate you coming on here and offering this insight. I’ve had it on a few other cars and it’s worked great. Im hoping that with your complaint they were able to create an update that fixed that issue.

But I may just decide to not keep it and opt for a tune. I can’t afford for it not to work properly when I usually have my family with me.

Ah, so the 22s are completely different than the 23s I guess? I saw a social post the other day with a 22 that was tuned from APR and thought maybe its the same maps for the 23. I'm ready for more power and so is the GTS.

I wonder if the tune will provide any more snap crackle pop. My most favorite thing about the GTS is whenever I start it in the garage during idle every 10 sec or so you get those additional pops on top of the grumble.

Pedal Commanders do not make a vehicle quicker. They are simply an electronic by-pass to decrease delay in fly-by-wire throttle response. You have the illusion you are going faster and quicker, but in reality all it does is shorten the factory-programmed response time so the vehicle responds to the throttle input rate more rapidly. This can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good when you want to jump off at a stop light, bad when your wife is trying to park the vehicle at the grocery store. Be careful of them ( I have one installed in my wife's Macans S) because they really are Jekyll and Hyde. 1

Looking for 600 hp from a 453 HP GTS? Remember that Porsche uses a special lightweight transmission in the GTS series that is not the same one in the Turbo or Turbo S. Can it handle 600 hp? Maybe, maybe not. Expensive to replace while you try to figure that out.

What about transmissions in base and S trims? Are they the same as the GTS or Turbo or yet another version? Thanks in advance. Lou

I have a '21 GTS coupe, does this compromise your warranty??

It can and will, if tied to the modification.

It would appear as though the transmissions are different for the GTS/Turbo compared to the base or S trimlines.

The transmission part number for the Turbo is: 0FE-300-036-J
The transmission part number for the S is: 0FE-300-035-N
The transmission part number for the base is: 0FE-300-035-J

^ Base uses 0FE-300-036-G (as the 035-J has been discontinued)

There was a long thread on this topic back in 2021. Read it here. Will help you decide on tunes and possible side effects of doing too much.

I’m in the same boat. My 2021 GTS is plenty fast and fun… more power would be great, but I don’t want to be the unlucky one who happens to have a legitimate defect in a motor/transmission that WOULD have happened ANYWAY…but b/c I happened to have a tune, all warranty coverage is denied. That is a lot of exposure on a car like this.

I can imagine a new motor is $30k+ in parts and labor….

But it sure would be fun!!

if only Porsche woudl offer a “factory” tune option….
