Default Cayenne Facelift 22/23

A number of media reports the mid term facelift on Cayenne is planned. Anyone knows when this facelift Cayenne available (end of 22 order or early 23 order?) on the market?

Maybe they’ll drop the Turbo like they did in Macan and give a power bump to GTS?

When are these cars usually announced? Is it like the new Macan 2022 where the deliveries would be starting in April 2022 and in the case of cayenne that would be April 2023?

My 2022 GTS coupe locks tomorrow and I’ve been digging into this as well. My dealer has no information.

I think they will do the same as the Macan(upgrade the GTS) which will provide a incredible package on the Cayenne. Some of the tech from the Turbo GT may also find its way in.

End of the day, I need a SUV for this winter, and I’m sure the 22 will be a phenomenal vehicle for me. The new one will probably launch right when mine lands. I’d probably wait if I had another SUV currently.

The only negative I’ve seen for the refresh in the media spy shots is digital tach. I love the analog tach on Porsche.

Help me understand this. Didnt porsche just start MY2022 for cayenne? How can they change the car a few months after the new model year? Wouldnt this change realistically happen in August 2022 as a MY2023?

My input is only worth what your paying for it😉

I really don’t have any facts. Yet on another thread a reliable poster “Chris” said wait a few months and it will be refreshed. He’s been accurate on numerous details in the past.

Porsche may of planned the refresh for the 22 but with all the craziness it was pushed back.

I don’t think they will wait for the next model year, they will just launch it as soon as they can. Only time will tell.

This is certainly plausible. My build locks in a month, I need to decide as well.

But, it won't be a free upgrade bump in power. The Macan GTS went up $5,000.

The difference was more like 10%, it went from $72k to $79k. Turbo cost was $85k. I think even if the new GTS costs $11k more it will be worth it. I would have no problem buying the current turbo if it could be configured to be like GTS.

Then it would be a GTS. I think what you are saying is you want a GTS but it doesn't have enough power? If that is the case you could get a Turbo GT.

In any event, I think the 22' changes have been announced, consisting of mainly a new PCM and a few other details. I suspect any other changes will come for MY23 at this point. I think the bigger problem is not when they are changing the vehicle in a mid cycle refresh, but rather getting a hold of one at msrp or at all.

Well, the purpose of this car for me is a “practical” SUV. I have too many unpractical cars. Turbo GT is a coupe model, not to mention it only comes with those massive brakes. I think GTS (or regular coupe) is the line that crosses towards too extreme. Some people are into rocket ship SUVs, this isnt it for me. That being said, I still want it to have power, handling, comfort, etc.

I would buy a Turbo right now “IF” I could configure it to be just like a GTS with 100 more hp and 100 more torque. You can get close to it but its not the same car. From aluminum door trims to exterior body panels to larger steering wheel, its a different car. I think GTS to Turbo is like GT3 to 911 Turbo. I dont like 911 Turbo (no offense), too numb/comfortable/not enough feedback/etc.

That being said, I think the previous poster is implying that Cayenne will get a refresh in the next few “months” not necessarily MY2023. Or MY2022 could be a very short run, specifically to get the delayed orders under control so that they can retool the production line to start MY2023. It looks like they are going to have a 4+ year run which is too long. So what we are discussing is the possibility of there being some changes come January 2022. I have PMed Chris who predicted the Macan GTS and also said “wait a few months before ordering Cayenne GTS as it will get the Turbo engine” but he never responded.

There are also pictures of test mules and interiors. It seems like cayenne will get the taycan interior with substantially bigger screen(s) and the lower control panel is significantly updated. The front dash also goes all digital.

It would be a big punch in the gut to spend this kind of money only to have an out of date car (and 100 hp less). But no way to know I guess.

Im in Canada. I am also looking to put down a deposit for the facelift Cayenne gts. I spoke to the sales manager yesterday face to face and he obviously said he has no definitive information for the MY23. He did say the ordering book should be like the 22 Macan in which the vehicle won’t be delivered until 22 calendar year and Cayenne will be no difference in which the facelifted vehicles will be delivered in the spring of 2023.

I would be happy to see they are to drop the turbo, now the turbo gt is the new top dog.

So its going to be a full year MY22 ending in August 2022, MY23 starts in Sep/Oct with Dec deliveries in 2022?

If thats true, thats a 1 year wait.

Also someone said “finding one at msrp”. What does this mean? Are they asking for markup? I have had 3 msrp slots for gts which I turned down, my build has around 6% discount.

I guess if you get a car $7-8k off and the new car is $11-12k more, waiting for the new car is $20k plus 1 year without cayenne.

In Canada, we don’t get much discount at all. If my dealer is going to offer me 2% on custom order, that’s huge 😁.

btw, for 2022, there is a wait of about 4 months to get an allocation. So, delivery would be about 6-7 months afterwards
