Default Engine & transmission production

Are the 2019 Cayenne engines and transmissions built in Bratislava along with the rest of the vehicle? Anyone know?
Thanks.

The engine is made in Hungary and the transmission made in Germany. Final assembly is in Bratislava.

Thanks! Do you know if those are Porsche production facilities or Audi or VW or other?

Don't know. I took the info off the MSRP sticker from my new Cayenne.

After further research, it seems that the 6 cylinder 2019 Cayenne engines are manufactured in the Audi engine plant in Gyor, Hungary. And the electric motors for the E-Hybrid are most likely produced at the new Audi electric motor plant, also in Gyor. Both are very modern, automated factories. The electric motor factory is one of the most automated I've ever seen.

Where's the honkin' redneck V8 made? Charlotte, NC? (Somehow, telling the curious dude at the gas station the engine was made in Leipzig just doesn't have the same impact. Unless you live in Leipzig, maybe.)

Well, Germany for sure for the V8... but Leipzig? Not Zuffenhausen?

Well, I was kidding about Leipzig. I have no idea where it's made. Or, if the latest news about EPA delays are true, when I'll actually lay hands on ours.

OMG. Well, it is hard to figure out where they make the engines. Since there is a new engine plant at Zuffenhausen that specializes in V8's, and will produce them for multiple VW brands, that was my best guess! Hope the EPA delay is short and you don't have to wait much longer. I just ordered my E-Hybrid yesterday, and suspect there will be EPA delays as well.

According to my SA, the electric motor for the 2019 E-Hybrid is not made in Hungary by Audi, but by Bosch, just like the previous Cayenne hybrids. 2019 Motor is new and different, but still Bosch.
