Default So while driving in sports mode...

This thing sucks..........

Gas.

If you look closely, you can actually see the fuel needle continually drop.

So how often do you guys drive in "sports mode" vs regular setting?

I only do the sports mode by myself as the shifting is a tad jerkier and my wife won't like it.

So, I've been doing about 75% sports and 25% regular so far. But it is only week 1. For you guys who have had it a while...still drive in sports mode?

Anytime I want to have more fun, and I'm alone, I put it in Sport and boy, even in the diesel, it is hella-fun.

Agreed Ben...the sports mode changes the car so much. A lot of fun like you said. It's a two gear difference while also holding the lower gears much more effectively. Always seems to be in the right gear for power when exiting corners or bends. Makes my 3 roundabouts very fun each morning and again in the afternoon.

I have found the Sport mode in my last 4 vehicles to work very well. Holding gears, always being in the right gear at the right time, responsive.

The only hard part is that when driving along normally, it feels like the transmission/driveline is constantly banging in the one gear so if I'm not driving like a maniac I just turn it off.

Sport Mode all the time. I do find the upshift speed a bit slow. Downshifts are very quick.

I'd say after the initial 'honeymoon period' with the vehicle, I now average probably 30% of my overall drive time in sport mode realistically.

Now if I head west for some pure pleasure driving across the mountains, I'm in full on sport mode during those drives. We took a run up to Skyline Drive this past weekend and that's when I can really appreciate the PDCC and PTV options. A nearly 5k pound SUV just shouldn't handle that good! Pretty incredible.

I don't care for the 2nd gear start in Regular mode, so my entry protocol is start the car, press the sport button, move the suspension back to normal level and head out. It's in this mode 95% of the time and I like the quicker shifts and higher RPM gear changes.

I'm with Pete on this ... Sport mode + PASM set to normal with the air suspension in the low Sport level 95% of the time - it keeps me smiling

Petza, the 958s start in 1st in both non-sport and sport modes. The 957 (and probably the 955s) have the 2nd gear starts in non-sport mode.

Sorry, didn't notice this thread was in the 958 sub forum and mine is a 957. Carry on.

I'm usually in Sport mode, as regular mode changes the throttle responsiveness so much you damn need to floor it if you want a downshift.

And I usually keep it set in LOW for the suspension setting, because STANCE IS LIFE YO!

If set to low, are there any conditions that cause the suspension to go back to the middle level on its own?

The only time I ever use Sport mode is when I'm in heavy rush hour traffic. I've found the increased responsiveness is helpful when needing to change lanes quickly (my lane stalled out, lane next to me moving... see a small gap... GO!)
