I feel idiotic for not checking this. I just bought a turbo out of state. See it outstanding on Porsche recall website here.

what’s the procedure for getting this fixed? Will Porsche do for free now?

Also any great recommendations on extended warranty for Porsche’s would be welcome right now.

In the USA, I understand there should be no problems, there are recall and the dealers respond.

Quiet, change the VarioCam and enjoy the machine.

Hi, welcome to the forum.

That fix is a "RECALL" - which by law never expires. You could wait another 10 years and take it in and they still would be required to do the job. I would suggest doing it a bit sooner than that though. The Zurich aftermarket warranties are generally highly spoken of here. So...

What year of the 958 does this apply to? Seems like mainly 958.1?

I have a 2016 Turbo S that I recently got.
Cheers

Mine was a bit of a mess because my previous dealer said it was already done. But when I moved to FL the new dealer said it still needed to be done and had never been completed.

So how do I tell if it actually has been done?

get a small dental mirror, open your oil filler, and look at the back of the module right under the oil fill hole. If you go to the sticky for buying a 958, you'll see the old style (center pin) and the new style
