Assuming your oil leak is similar to mine, then it is so slow of a leak that the engine impact and oil level measuring system will not notice it for a very, very long time. I would guess that you could drive it forever and not have to get it fixed (just add oil or change it more frequently). But it's not supposed to leak, so it should be fixed, at least from the principle of it.

Excellent ... although the waiting for me was longer than expected due to parts from Germany. I'd be interested to find out the cause of your leak once the work is completed. Good luck with the whole process.

My SA advised it was a guide tube of some sort and there is a TSB out on it. Maybe my issue is the same as bella1..

So I got my CD back yesterday after almost a month in the shop. My paperwork said N/C but saw paperwork submitted to PCNA is around $7.5K+. $2.5 parts and balance labor. Got a free oil change out of it and onward we go..

Moving this thread to the 958 section, since I assume it's a 958 since it's a diesel..

Hang on..

It's not a guide tube. It's the timing chain seals. The timing chains on a CD are in the rear.

My car just had this done. Got it done in 9 days, but they had ordered the parts ahead of time. Complete engine and trans out job. Had I been out of warranty I would have just dealt with it.

Here is the invoice. I got a new oil pan as well and was in there for an adblue heating element replacement.

Mine is getting this now. Dropped car off for a CEL which was the #2 well know issue on these cars (the Ad Blue heater, #1 being the clock second hands!) that was a 2hr job and is done. A dash rattle, and some oil seepage on the bell housing my tech at the race shop noticed last 2 oil changes after doing regular oil changes (and wiping between).

They inspected the leak. Top oil pan seal. Engine out, full 40 hours or so job. Parts ordered on Weds, expect a week for all parts. OUCH. Glad I have CPO! Just hit 50k miles, 4 years in service.

Have a Macan base as a loaner. Way under powered.

Seems this is now a very common issue. Glad you get it with the warranty too. They did the fix for me first and afterwards still leaked so they just gave me a new engine. Been dry ever since ... 2 years now.

I just got my CD back after 5 weeks in the shop! Same issue. Thank God for extended warranty. Dealer told me the total repair bill was just under $15k (CDN)! I also got the benefit of a free oil change, alignment and any other minor part they could swap out once the engine was out. I asked the service rep what someone who didn't still have a warranty would do, and he said he wouldn't fix it, and just live with the oil leak. Seems like an engineering design flaw when a minor oil leak needs such a major repair.

And btw, I had a base Cayenne loaner for the 5 weeks. Very, very happy to get my CD back!

The base Cayenne makes the base Macan feel like a sports car by comparison. What a dog.

My dealer just opened its new location on July 1st. When I went in at the end of August, my SA said that had done ELEVEN of these repairs since moving. Crazy.

Default Oil leak under the car (Cayenne 958 Diesel)

Hi guys,
I've found some oil "seat" all over plastic cover under the car and also some on the gearbox, near the engine. I've read around here about this common problem of Cayenne diesel and don't know how to treat this.
It's a second hand car with full Porsche service. It's a 2013 with 115.000 Km.
What do you think, normal oil leakage from maintenance tasks (even for a Porsche service) or problems that will trigger the infamous oil leak between engine and gearbox?
