Looks like my 2011 diesel needs the timing cover replacing and sealing at 108,000 miles. How much else should be done while the engine is that far apart. It will be getting the replacement timing cover that is apparently stiffer, seems obvious to do the timing chains, guides and tensioners. The independent specialist doing the work is keen to replace the oil pump on the basis that he would historically have resealed it but apparently the seals are no longer available but at £600 including taxes it is quite a chunk. Is the oil pump unlikely to last another 75,000 miles or more?
Glad I read through this thread. Definitely seeing the same "seepage" on our 2013 currently at 137k miles. I noticed it shortly after we hit 120k. It hardly accumulates over 5-10k miles so I'm going to go with letting it be as suggested by a tech earlier in the thread. I'm more afraid of creating new issues from an engine out service as opposed to some slight seepage. Unless a full engine replacement is covered, not sure I'd even do this under warranty.
I have a 2013 Cayenne Diesel with an oil leak at the same place. The local dealer dropped the engine to fix the issue . I don't believe the fix was 100% successful as the same issue has returned.
I don't experience a usage but it is obvious when I change the oil and take oil catcher off underneath.
I am at 72,300 miles .
It isn't really an issue but is unexpected. I doubt the car would pass any pre-purchase inspection ... so would be harder to sell or have a discounted resale value or only good for a trade.
I plan to discuss with the dealer to see what they think I should do .

There is a TSB over the oil leaks on these vehicles, and they should fix them under warranty. Document attached.
I just had mine done under warranty at 88k miles, so far so good. They go well beyond just the gaskets, I assume because Porsche doesn't want to pull the engine out again if something else that's covered should fail. I'm lucky to have Porsche Colorado Springs, they are a fantastic dealership. It took five weeks and I had a Macan Loaner. I originally took it in for an EGR related CEL and service and they covered everything, even the service because they originally quoted me 3 weeks.
I have a 2013 purchased December 2012. When they did the diesel fix at the dealer they noted that the oil drain plug was leaking- you'd think they would fix this. However on oil changes we noticed oil which looked like it was coming from the rear main seal. Dry oil on the plastic bottom engine cover but not down between changes. Independent garage noted oil leak at which looked like main seal. Reading these posts it appears mine may have the cracked case issue too. In any event I should have dealer figure it out. Mine has about 63k miles but I noticed this maybe 3 o4 4 k ago. I don't drive mine much much less than 5k a year in fact 'change oil light' came on at about a year from previous change so I did not drive 5 k probably 1k at most but changed oil to keep in warranty recommendations
