Still waiting for an answer on this. I think on PSE it's open and has a valve control.

Maybe it's just a matter of drill open and put a cutout type valve?

I'm too chicken **** to try it.

I'm almost certain it looks exactly like that with the secondary ports welded shut. I can't think of a good reason that porsche would make 2 different mufflers for V8 cars. Plus, there's the PSE upgrade that can be done on any V8 cayenne. I think it would help if someone could find PSE install instructions. I bet it says to cut out that second hole and install new quad tips. With secondary having a power controlled solenoid.

Didn't take too long... I found install manual.

Looks like the rear muffler is different, but one could but all the pieces and get it done.

Interesting read. Seems like it might be cheaper to just get an aftermarket exhaust?

I offered someone on FB market $100 for a SC muffler. If he ever agrees, I'll open up those second holes and it it seems ok, I'll get the gts tail pipes. Possibly get some wireless solenoids to open/close those secondary pipes.

If someone does this before I get to try, please post up.

any luck ? I removed the tips on mine and looked in with scope. Looks like it passes straight through. How to tell but seems like the inlet makes a bend inside to the second hole then just bounces around to the open chamber .

Nope, guy is refusing $100.

Your drawing makes sense. Wonder if the PSE muffler is different not only in having 2 extra holes, but also different internals. I will defeat this.

I'm so close to cutting mine off, if nothing else so I don't hear the power steering pump. Still not found anyone who's done it to a 958 though so a little worried it'll be too loud

If you know how to weld and have tools, shouldn't be a problem. Use hole saw, then weld back those second holes. I just don't have the tools or knowledge

Quick Reply: Open the rear hole on 958 Cayenne S muffler? (photo)
