Default Open the rear hole on 958 Cayenne S muffler? (photo)

I'm wondering if the sport exhaust is the same as the factory S exhaust with both holes (plus the controller). Has anyone done this?

That should work but you will need a 2 port exhaust tip. Here is the arrangement on a 957.

The controller/flap actuators and vacuum lines are not required, if you are okay with the sport mode always on.

The factory setup keeps the second port closed until the accelerator is mashed or the sport button is turned on.

I have plugged the vacuum lines so SE is always on...it sounds perfect to me.

Thanks for the pics. I assume yours came with sport exhaust? Although they look identical, I want to be sure the stock and sport mufflers are the same before opening the hole.

Yes all 957 GTS models are factory equipped with sport exhaust.

I haven't looked into this in detail but was wondering how the sport exhaust system works. Is its native state without vacuum to be "on" with sport exhaust active? Or does it require vacuum to active the sport mode?

IOW:

Vacuum = growl or Vacuum = no growl?

Tx,
Scott

Thanks Rick! This explains why I get the occasional growl on startup until vacuum has built up.

Looks like I have a quick/easy project to do!

Just did the mod today while doing the oil. It is literally a 10 second fix if I get tired of it.

While under the car, I noticed the cardan shaft bearing support pillow was torn..... Ima do a Jimi fix soon.

Has anyone done this since the last post? Could you just open up the whole without adding the tips?
