Brakes "bang" when breaking.

Brakes "bang" when breaking.
Just got my CD 958 2012 with 90k km.
I just realized this morning in traffic that while crawling up to 6-10 mph and attempt to stop, I heard a bang noise and I get it again once I take my foot from the brake pedal. Not instantly, but like, half a second after.
Any ideas?

i agree, it sounds like it could be the valve body, it's not terribly expensive, there are rebuild kits to swap it out.
you were probably rolling to the stop and the transmission shifted down to a lower gear right as you were coming to a stop. Maybe from 3 to 2, or if you're in sport mode or it's really cold out, maybe 2nd to 1st.
do you notice hard shifts when casually driving and it upshifts or downshifts?

I have heard zero incidents of 2012 cayennes having "the valve body" problem. 958's do not have the aisin valve body of the early cayennes.
However, maybe you should check transmission fluid levels. Perhaps there is a slow leak from a transmission plug. Did the car fax show any transmission services? Modern transmissions are very sensitive to having the right fluid level.
Btw, its braking not breaking. Just saying.
