Replace Bi-Xenon with LED

It's getting hard for me to see the lines in the road at night, especially if there are no streetlights and it's raining. The LED retrofit is intriguing, but I live in the outskirts of Detroit, blinding oncoming cars would be a bad thing.

it looks like in the pic there is air travel around the LED module for the heat sink if that thing is blowing
air inside the housing it will ruin the reflectors and lenses, I already paid the price on one set in another car...
Good luck.

Why, what happened? I have the fans on the inside of the housing on my subaru, no leds in the Cayenne yet. They seem to be doing ok but I've only had them for about six months.

That's interesting, I can't say I've seen this as an issue with others that have done this. This is a pretty common upgrade available and done in all sorts of vehicles, so I'm not sure why this would have happened. What kind of vehicle did you install it in? Was there much space inside the lens? There are vents in the Cayenne headlight assembly, so it' not sealed and does let some air in/out.

Many cars require pulling the front bumper to replace bulbs these days. Or having spaghetti hands/limbs that will fit through tiny openings to get to bulb mounts (and have eyes on stalks to see...)
This one is quite well thought out.

Once I read how to do it and breathed a sigh of relief, my one previous owner used CTT and had all of its accouterments in the hatch; It was pretty easy.

88-98 GM trucks and SUVs are the same way - and very easy. Two pins that unscrew, and the headlight pops right out to reveal the bulb sockets on the back. Certainly not as easy as just reaching behind the headlight and changing the bulb, but engine bays are so packed there isn't much room for that on many makes.

The Osram Nightbreakers don’t seem to have made much difference to the stock bulb which were also Osram Xenarc. But disappointed, looks like I’ll need to upgrade my low beam too. And it was foggy here the last few days so I realize my fogs are next to useless.
Might have to go ahead and do the LEDs. My commute is a lot of back roads and I almost cleaned out a whole family of deer tonight…

No, not even close. Many cars have to remove the whole unit to replace bulbe.
My 2003 Dodge Ram requires I pull three screws from each lamp to access it.
And before fancy headlights, we had sealed beam units... so pulling the whole fixture isn't a bad design or even unique.

I would not play with led. Most of them its writen down not for road use. So in the case of a crash your f**** as you are not street legal and its your fault and your insurans will not cover it. In croatia if you have a crash and even when it is not your fault first thing they look at your tires. Are the dimensions in the papers, are they older then 7 yrs and so on.
