Alarmsystem going crazy - Cayenne 92a Diesel
Hi there,
I am new to this forum and hope you Guys can help me out.
I actually live in Germany, so my Cayenne Diesel is a German Configuration (just in case this might some difference).
Currently, I cannot lock my Cayenne anymore without getting the confirmation beep (which normally only occurs when something is open), and after about 2 mins it always sets off the alarm systen.
Currently, I have to leave my car unlocked as it will otherwise trigger the alarm system.
The German forum could not get me any answer for this.
For diagnosis I have an Icarsoft, I am not sure if this is known in the US.
I check, is says all windows are up, doors closed, sunroof closed etc. So currently I do not know what might be causing the problem.
Is this a common problem? Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Mark

Can you pull the codes using Icarsoft? I always have codes when it comes to the alarm system and mine is working fine.

Hi there, the thing causing the alarm seems to be rear window sensor.
I saw a contact is damaged there.
I then used some wire to bridge, but the problem still is there.
What is that wire for anyways, there are 4, do you know what they are for, and do you know how it actually registers broken glass? Does it use the window heating to measure?
Seems the window heating does also not work at the moment.

Great, thanks. I will remind you via PM.
Do you know if the car even has the function of glass breakage sensor via contacts?
if the hear window heating was working, would I notice it with my hand?
I closed the contact with some wire, but the alarm still keeps going off.
Thanks!

Just to bring people up to speed - the wiring diagrams on AllDataDIY do not have a diagram of the rear glass in the rear hatch. At least not that I could find. I suspect given the size of the wires in the photos that they're all for heating elements on the glass. A search of AllData for "glass breakage" didn't result in any enlightenment.
Bummer.. and my own Cayenne's alarm is acting up.

in AllDataDIY, I found an electrical diagram for the rear lid as follows (these are not hyperlinks):
Vehicle » Diagrams » Electrical Diagrams » Trunk / Liftgate » Rear Lid, Left - Sheet 45A
or
Vehicle » Diagrams » Electrical Diagrams » Diagrams By Name » Rear Lid, Left - Sheet 45A

I just now also looked through the other sheets. I thought there should be an interior sensor in the overhead panel, but not according to the wiring from what I can see.

Little update
I disconnected the battery. (what a bunch of work haha)
But error is this there.
I had a few other errors, maybe they are related:
000602 Closed circuit current, limit exceeded
000603 load switch off
Might these somehow be related to my issue?
Thanks!

Hi there,
by pulling different fuses we have now tried something.
If we pull the fuse 16 for control unit central locking driver's side, he locks both doors and the trunk on the right side without honking.
If I then lock the driver's door manually, then the confirmation tone (honk) comes again and the alarm system goes on after 1 min.
So I would conclude that it indicates the driver's door or micro switch in the driver's door is broken. What do you think?
Does anyone of you know if LAUNCH diagnostics tool can read an error if a microswitch is defective?
Best,
Mark

Dear all,
I have solved the issue and wpuld like to thank everybody for their support.
In order to help anyone who might have a similar error:
The rear window does have a breakage sensor!
i showed up in the wiring diagram in PIWIS.
So, yes, the for sure is a sensor in the rear glas!
Best,
Mark
