Best Performance Max Summer Tires CTTS Your Experience
Any opinions on the best tires for a 2016 CTTS? Looking for max performance summer tires. The OE tires currently on the car are the Yokohama Advan Sport. This is a pretty expensive tire and why I am reaching out to see if there is another tire I should be considering for the money.
Thoughts? TIA

what size wheels do you have? I have the boring Goodyear Eagle LS2s on the 20"x 9' wheels. If I buy tires again for these wheels (instead of going to 10.5" or 11" wheels) I am going to try bridgestone potenza S007A 275/40R20. A little shorter and much more a performance tire.

I'll have to look into those. It's a race between me getting home from a trip NJ-CA-NJ in the Cayenne, or the odometer clicking over 100,000 miles. Whichever - since it seems I'll be keeping the CTT - I will be doing a make-it-new-again service on it, which will include new rubber. The Nokia tires which have bugged me since I put them on (awful flatspotting, and almost impossible to balance) - while not worn to the wear bars have worn out their welcome with me. For anyone considering tires for their Cayenne DO NOT GET Nokia summer rubber. Their winter stuff has a great rep - their summer tire simply sucks.
Guess I'll also be doing an oil change (first time it's gone to 10,000 miles - it announced today that I have 300 miles until a change is due. It's about 340 to home), and the differentials and probably the transfer case and transmission. It had brake fluid about 6 months ago, coolant 3 years ago while the engine was out (and some again when they replaced the thermostat housing), a new water pump at 60,000 while engine was out (just because it would never be easier.. the front of the engine was getting disassembled anyway..) and a new serpentine belt at 60k (engine out..)
After the number of potholes I've bounce through with these miserable tires I think I'll have the front end checked and probably aligned when the new tires are going on.
So far the only thing I can remember that actually "broke" on the car since I've owned it (and actually since new if the service records can be believed) is the hood latch cable. I'm still on the original transfer case.. go figure. It did see 100mph+ a number of times on this past trip.. it's amazing how fast it accelerates from 60-120MPH when floored passing someone.

OEM on mine were P Zero. Wouldn't get again. Apart from poor lifespan (pretty much a given with summer performance tires though), they got pretty stiff as they aged (even at reduced "comfort" level inflation pressure).
When those wore out (got a little over 20K miles on the Pirellis, which I thought was pretty good), I switched to Michelin Latitude Sport 3s. Ride is better than the Pirellis and the wet pavement handling seems better, though the Pirellis weren't *terrible* in that regard.
When the Michelins wear out, I'll probably get another set after I check out if there's anything new available in the size range.

Not a performance summer tire but I am riding on Michelin A/S 3 tires which are all season high performance tires but more so summer/wet and cold than snow. I will keep my snow tires but I wanted some tires that will wear a lot better than a summer perf tire. I'm on 295/35r21s

I liked the Michelin Latitude Sports but they don't last for sh**. The tread warranty is 20k miles and you'll be lucky to get anywhere near that. I swapped to the Contis this time with a 50k warranty - had great success with them before on a 7 series BMW. Maybe slightly louder but performance is very good.
My car came with the Yoko Advans and they were good also. Probably just have to suck it up and expect new tires to cost mucho $$$.

At least as priced on Tirerack right now, you could nearly buy two sets of Pirelli P Zero for one set of one set of PS 4S. Do they really last nearly twice as long as the P Zeros to justify nearly twice the price?

^^Here is the question that was asked:
He didn't ask for the best snow tire
He didn't ask for the best all season tire
He didn't even ask for the best deal on tires or which tire lasts the longest.
He asked for the Best Performance tire and that question has been answered with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.

Our CTT came with the 21 inch Pzeros. Same as many that we see in the shop. Tire is OK, good grip but doesn't last very long and can be noisy. We installed a set of Vredestien Ultrac Vorti. We chose this as our local distributor gave us a pretty good incentive to try them and let clients give them a drive on our CTT. They are quite good. Seem to have plenty of grip in dry and wet and very little NVH. Wear is negligable after about 7,000 miles. Pricing is very good. We liked them enough to put a fair quantity in stock.

Agreed. Though they also just game out with a Pilot Sport 4 SUV, which is a derivitive of the 4S but more oriented towards vehicles like are. It's early and there's not much out there on them, but I suspect that for some they could be a better fit.
