Dealer only or can I go to a mavis?

 

If you have air suspension, the dealer is going to give you the best results. Their price is staggering for an alignment though. $400

 

Mine was offering 299 but I have a coupon for 20% off
and yes I have an air suspension

 

That's a steal.

I had two cars aligned at my master alignment guy. In fact, he's everyone's go to guy when it comes to alignment in Los Angeles. Does all the track guys etc...

He said, he had the hardest time aligning my 2011 Cayenne Turbo with air and my 2015 Audi Q7, also air suspension. Both cars came back to me with not much of a difference at all. I didn't give him grief a he's been spot on with every other car I've brought to him.

Cayenne is tracking straight but the Q still wanders slightly to the right. Not enough to bother the wifey but I did inquire at the Audi dealer and the price came back $399. I jut assumed that the Porsche shop is the same as they are in the same parking lot, Rusnak Porsche.

I'd be all over that price $240 is a deal. Alignment to be done in normal ride height, even if you drive the car in a lowered position.

There is a local high-end German only shop not far from me in NJ, and another shop that did all the alignment for our friendly local Penske dealer until the dealer got a new building with room for an alignment rack. Both of them use the Hunter laser alignment system. They match price - $125 for alignment. I guess as I'm closing in on 100,000 miles and the last time it was aligned was at 60,000 when Porsche took the engine/transmission/subframe out - it's probably due.

 

I recall hearing about the hunter laser alignment - i believe there is a place near me here - is that a good alternative?

 

I got my alignment done at the dealer for about $260. Definitely worth it- I called around and pricing was the same or higher. I did this after new tires and could feel it tracking right. They did a good job in normal height but in the lowered level it was tracking to one side. The dealer fixed everything and that made me realise they probably are the best for this. Independents may have charged for a second alignment at the lower level.

 

Im in Philly, looking for someone to put on new summer tires and do balance plus alignment. Where are these guys you recommend?

 

My dealer is 279. After I had to get two tires replaced. They gave me a 50 off coupon. Another dealer quoted me 440 something. Huge differences between some dealers.
