I did this (ordered the kit from Nick) on my 991. It worked great!! Pictures are in the 991 forum. I actually sold my 991 and plan to install it in my 958.2 soon. You have to open the PCM and insert a board. It not super hard, but still not that easy either. If you have installed radio and built computers (motherboards etc) you will not have an issue at all.

Hardest part was removing the DVD player the first time - need to fight it.. I also needed 5mm risers since i have the XM radio option, but everything fits in there. It is a hack - so you need to swap to AUX to get audio for it, but its worth it having carplay and all the apps on the screen vs your phone.

I am very interested to retrofit for my 2016 Cayenne. My car equipped with Premium package plus (rear camera, 360" surround view shows on the Nav screen) and multi-function steering wheel.Are all these functions still work after the retrofit? Do you need to have dealer to do any programming or erase any error code? Do you have to connect your iphone via USB cable to work or can be via bluetooth to work?

no dealer programming needed , yes USB cable needed
I got my kit from Nick at NM .last summer . so far so good.

The computer system that is included in the kit does both android and apple
It's a selection in the menu system. I have used both my android and my apple devices and they work great. I prefer apple but android has all the same features.

How about those vertical Android displays that are becoming pretty popular now. anyone try one of them? With the above, you need your PCM to be 3.1 but a lot of the earlier 958s are not 3.1 so this would be out of the question. However, the vertical Android seems like a better option.
