2012 Porsche Cayenne S 4.8L DOHC registering P0068 MAP Sensor/MAF Sensor/Throttle Pos
Hello,
I have a 2012 Porsche Cayenne S 4.8L DOHC and I am having some issues with rough Idle and hesitation. Getting P0068 MAP Sensor/MAF Sensor/Throttle Position Correlation engine code. My initial plan was to clean the MAF and MAP sensors, but i am having problems locating the sensors. All pics I've found so far do not match my engine configuration, can anyone point out the sensors locations or provide any pics or diagrams. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

HI - I assume this means I can delete the same question you posted in the 955/957 forum? Just did that.
On to your questions - the 958 V8 turbo doesn't have MAF's - it relies on the manifold pressure sensor. If your engine has the MAP in the same spot as a turbo - one MAP is located under the plastic trim piece covering the throttle-body. Its screwed into the side of the throttle body (from memory..) Somewhere I've posted photos of it - with the suggestion that if it's needed you do a web search for the Bosch PN that's on it. Porsche wants $$$ for it - but it's a common sensor found easily for as little as $18 (used on some Chevy models..) There may be other ones on a normally-aspirated V8..
Worth looking at: https://www.porsche.com/all/media/pd...W_GB_92A-1.pdf - specifically - Page 318 - which I believe is your vehicle - and it doesn't show any MAF in the air intake path. You can select to download that catalog in PDF format - it's official Porsche so you know the PN's are going to be correct.. then searching on your specific engine and seeing what pops up for MAP or MAF should be productive.

Have this exact issue on my truck changed MAP sensor was good for 3 weeks and it came back. Need to smoke test it.
Ended up changing the evap purge valve/line part #94811002013 the O ring going into the intake manifold was leaking. Codes P1070 and P0068 are gone.

Currently have rough idle, 2 codes, also noticed air sucking when gas cap open to fill up, and doesn't take gas until the sucking stops. Seems to only happens when code is present.

Got the evap line, just replaced and definitely a UUUGE difference. Shaking almost gone or maybe gone and it's just the motor mounts now maybe. Looking at mpg, it's sky rocketing, response of gas pedal is muuuuch better. Idk about the error codes, I just used Launch to reset them. Well see if they come back, but the P!G feels way healthier.
I'm still contemplating doing motor mounts and trans fluid/filter.
Thanks Kaiat for the evap line recommendation. If I didn't drop the intake clamp and beauty cover bolt into the bottom cover, this job would be 15 min.

Update: codes are back, shaking gas returned. I've ordered the MAP sensor now, just $25 from FCP of course.... well see if it makes a difference. Strangely enough, the part number is different than the one I have. Well see how this goes. If it's not this, then I definitely have a vacuum leak.

I've got a smoker, just never good time to do the test.

No, didn't help. It's not difficult to change. I used long needle nose pliers to press the release ring that's under the intake. Not necessary to take off air boxes nor the piping. But is easier if you do.

I bought a smoke tool and smoked the intake. No leaks. I'm stomped. Have you got and resolution for P1070 and P0068?

The codes are saying low air in intake. How could it be a gas cap? Mine clicks. Maybe just the seal? But still how..?
Anyway, I'm trying the gas cap first... already on order from FCP.
